Wow 3000! That is wonderful. I like the length of the short sleeves on the sweater you are wearing. I prefer a longer short sleeve and that length is perfect.
I did a test knit a couple years ago and it was so much fun.
Thanks for keeping me company as I work on my test knit. I also have a black cardigan that needs to be frogged🙄
Kaity, you could wear a flowy cami under the Navelli sweater. That's what I do with sweaters that are a bit too short to wear comfortably with jeans. I'll try to send you an example of what i mean. Because it's a cami, you don't have any extra material in the armpits to worry about if the sweater is already a bit tight in that area.
I love your sweet podcast! Kaity, your Navalli is gorgeous!! I stay away from bottom up sweaters for just the reasons you noted, but yours looks perfect on you! I also have been lucky to find yarn on Ravelry when I ran low for a sweater--great resource! Congratulations on hitting 3,000 subscribers!!
Oh I remember piecing sweaters. They never looked very good. So happy that most patterns are top down now. I even try to avoid bottom up….except the Weekender. 🧶. Love your podcast and your mother/ daughter relationship 💗

I recently frogged 2 Noro projects. I skeined, soaked and dried the yarn. The yarn came back to life it’s amazing now waiting for the next project. Noro yarn usually contains silk so doesn’t felt that well. I’m all for frogging and reusing yarn for a different project.

I really enjoyed watching the two of you together. I loooove knititng and taking. About it so I also have a small RUclips channel and wish I could have an episode with my daughter ( but she doesn’t like knititng as I do) … maybe I will have her as a guest one day wearing some of the things I have knit for her over the years ha ha . Love all of your projects you are both so talented and I’m so inspired ❤❤

Kaity - I sympathize with the length issue of your Navelli, and saw you continually pulling it down while showing us. I was wondering if you have any of the purple left? If so, consider picking up around the CO edge and adding length with a split rib in the purple. Yes, it changes the look but I think it might allow you to wear this beautiful sweater comfortably. I had to do this with a vest and it’s totally fine now to wear.
You are both such beautiful knitters, but it is encouraging to see the projects that didn't go the way you envisioned! Incidentally, I had said that I work with my SIL on Leicester Longwool and Wensleydale sheep in one of your previous podcasts as a comment. I think you asked if I made anything from the wool. It is rustic compared to what you gals are used to; the wool of the Colonists who made things to last a lifetime (no pilling), but yes I have made several blankets, use in spinning all of the time, weaving as a warp (strong), outerwear sweaters (wear like iron), bags both wet felted and not, and lined mittens and hats (it gets mighty cold in northern MN and this is a very warm, strong wool when I am snowshoeing or outdoors hiking in the winter, One of my favorite projects was a gansey sweater in the old fisherman tradition.

Several years ago I also knitter a Felix cardigan and it was too large like your black one. I used a coral color Mountain Mohair by Green Mountain Spinnery. I took it apart and plan to reknit it in a Felix pullover in the next smaller size. That is my next project as I am finishing up an Edie sweater in ancient stash [ Silky Tweed by Elsebeth Lavold] . I am 69 and just don't look right in these oversize sweaters that are popular now. Each sweater is a learning project.

My daughter Katie and I get together Tuesday for lunch, nap, knit day. She puts her 3 little girls down to nap after lunch and we knit and chat. Seeing you 2 drinking iced coffees sounds just like us!!! I so enjoy watching you both!!!

I love the ranunculus sweaters! I have never knit a sweater and would love to try one. Can I knit this using a sock weight yarn? I'm so glad I found you podcast. I'm definitely a subscriber.
You can absolutely use sock yarn, that is the beauty of this project just about any weight yarn will work. The trick is to knit a swatch and see if you will like/wear the fabric that you have created. Thank you for watching and joining in on the conversation. ❤~Diana

I like the black cardigan. The other one not so much 😂 I will tell you I frogged a pieced single ply worsted weight self striping yarn cardigan and reknit it into a jumper 😮

I’ve never knit that Caitlin Hunter pattern, but would it be too difficult to pick out your bind off? If it’s bottom-up and snug under the arms and too short, if you add an inch or two to the top, it seems like it would solve both your concerns. I think it looks lovely though!
I think she’s going to find a high waisted skirt of dress to wear under it but extending it is an excellent idea. ~Diana
Did anyone else have low volume? I had the volume on my Chromebook at maximum volume and it was too low, which made the ads too loud.
