    This is exactly what I’m looking for. Lots of 12v power. Perfect for camping. I bet I could use this without charging it all week. All I’m using it for is to run my CPAP and charge handheld devices.

    Jehu, Connect the top layer and the bottom layer using a larger amount of Via.
    Then you can further reduce the resistance of PCB connections.

    Seriously How good are these for car audio.... are they better than headway cells or spim08hp cells?

  • @catch22frubert
    @catch22frubert Год назад +2

    Those cells are bad ass. They would be very useful if you could design a mobile tool cart for mechanics with a 4s6p battery pack at the bottom to have lots of available power, plus a 2Kw inverter for plug in only stuff. The extra tools could be jumper cables to start dead cars and a small compressor and air tank to fill tires and have compressed air. Plus you could charge battery packs for whatever electric hand tools you use. Lots of people use Milwaukee. You could also hook up a car stereo with an efficient amplifier for some tunes while working outside or wherever you have your tool cart. I almost thought it would cost to much to build until I saw what companies like Snap On and Mac tools charge for empty metal boxes and carts with no extra usefulness built in.

      If you hava a 2kW inverter, 24 or 48V is a better option..
      8S3P would be a better option. Also 24V DC equipment is readily available due to trucks using 24V.

    Just noticed your channel a few days ago. Love the contents.
    I build normally using 32650 for a few reasons.
    1) its cheap. 1-2$ pr cell. And im poor.
    2) you can somewhat shape them if you have space for a battery that isn't perfectly box shaped. It gives some option with tight spaces.
    Do you have some cool prints for 32650? I use cooper tapping wire but a nice pcb with leads for 2-3 5a balancing & a bms connection would be cool.

    • @jehugarcia
      @jehugarcia  Год назад +1

      They are better now, but they still kill a lot of battery systems, most of the time bms is what’s wrong in a faulty battery pack.

      A well matched set of LiFePO4 cells should be fine for 10 + years without a bms. But it’s a bit of work as lifepo4 cells quality is terrible. About 5% of them divísate enough to cause problems

      These batteries in 4s configuration is more than enough. I replaced the battery in my 2015 vw golf tdi with a battery he offered a few months back called the slm121 which he has been long sold out by now.

      @@ealneas1 I gotcha, I'm sorry to hear that it's much harder to attain over there. That's precisely why I upgraded to one of his lithium batteries. I'm running 3500 watt sound system and my two agms and high output 370a alternator weren't keeping up for some reason. That one single battery outdid the two agms though. I hope you can find something that works for you. I wouldn't use anything other than lifepo4 in my car though that or LTO( lithium titanite oxide) which are fairly more expensive. To answer your question though. These lifepo4 batteries are perfect for regular car batteries replacements.

  • @SilverTreasures

    14:44 it’s 153 degrees F. It clearly shows the lowest and highest temperature on the left of the screen. You adjusted and pointed the sensor at the middle of the pack shortly after you started the second test. You should have left it pointed at the actual connection point. I feel like you’re trying to deceive people. Or you just “happened” to “accidentally” adjust the thermal sensor off the connection point as soon as the temp started rising above 120F. I can see why the audio guys give you a hard time. It would have been nice to actually see the true results.

    • @jehugarcia
      @jehugarcia  Год назад +1

      Oh yeah in trying to deceive people by showing you thermal tests, I just need 30 degrees to fool people. The audio folks trashing my boards sell competing aluminum bars so anyone with half a working brain can see their motives.

      Dude these are continuous loads also. It's actually insane how cool it stays under a continuous loads like that. Music is not continuous and only pulls the amperage when the bass hits. A music system because music is continuous is never going to pull its peak at all times.

    • @jehugarcia
      @jehugarcia  Год назад

      I might have already designed that board many months ago but I never released it because the cells I ordered took forever to arrive, I think they are 280s I just have to check if they are same dimensions as thr EVE cells. Is that seller reliable?

    • @jodydewey
      @jodydewey Год назад +1

      @@jehugarcia I have seen tons of videos with those particular cells being used. Currently the 18650 store is sold out of them but there are several other stores that do have them. Having a board like yours would greatly simplify the assembly - especially when you make it so simple to attach the BMS.
