    Covered calls modify the risk reward profile of a stock. The average investor has a really difficult time in seeing the value in that because there isn't a way to quantify risk reward into one definitive number. So to stop some of the hateful comments on this video I suggest telling us how much Rebellionaire clients have made? How much extra can be squeezed out of shares? What are some awesome results? What are your worst results? Give us some percentage data so that we can value this information.
    Thanks for the videos! Keep them coming.

    Great explanation Bradford , thank you. Any suggestions for those in UK ? I’m pretty sure the FCA banned options trading in UK.

      I realize I am not Bradford but I wanted to chime in and say FCA banned derivative products on crypto related only. You can still buy options on Stocks in the UK.

    I've been binging Covered Call videos but no one mentions what to do when the stock goes up. What happens if i buy to close? What happens if you just let it run further into the money? A detailed explanation of what happens when the stock rallies would be appreciated

    • @michaelbone6894
      @michaelbone6894 2 дня назад +1

      When the stock rallies the price of the option increases, so if you buy to close you are paying a higher price than you originally made selling the same options, resulting in a net loss. Exactly how much the price increases depends on various factors aside from stock price, including how much time is left before the strike date (less time = lower price) and the current volatility of the stock (greater volatility = higher price). If the price of the stock surpasses the strike price the buyer can buy the shares from you at the lower price, potentially resulting in you under performing the underlying stock if you immediately buy the shares back at the current price (which is higher than the price you were forced to sell at). You pay taxes on the stock sale as usual, which can be the biggest issue in many cases.

    What about just buying 2 yr leaps?

  • @travismartinson1813
    @travismartinson1813 15 дней назад +1

    The deeper in the money, the more downside protection, but you lose the upside. The farther out of the money, the more upside but less downside protection. There is always a trade-off. The safest Tesla option is selling leaps.

    It’s important to explain management mechanisms and strategies (like rolling campaigns). In stocks like Tesla, you can’t lose with proper mechanics long run, but without mechanics you can lose a lot, fast.

      Yes, this seems like a clickbait ad video, and a waste of time. There was no hack explained, just a very vague idea of a strategy to sell covered calls, but no really useful information at all. Just enough to get somebody in trouble if they take him at his word and gets into selling covered calls and then has the trade go against them. This sort of video is much more dangerous than helpful.

    Brad, I think the linguists forgot that "wish" also belongs to the wh words! Seriously, "I wish" has all the hallmarks of it, even by having adequate opposites in other Indoeuropean languages (I'm Czech and there is a word that falls within the criteria).
    And somehow, I just thought such word is very relevant for us investors. 🤭

    My humble request please suggest me something and this willl be big loss for me. Do I need to roll my position and select feature exp date ?

      If you are inexperienced you made a mistake. Production/Deliveries will most likely be be on 2nd Jan. It was a risky move. Also when you bought, the charts were already saying a correction was coming. Instead of buying you should have sold covered calls (assuming you had enough shares). Just my 2 cents.

    • @robertscifers2371
      @robertscifers2371 15 дней назад

      Buying options requires you to be correct about both the direction and timing of the price movement; also, your profit is reduced by the amount of premium that you paid to purchase the option. Selling calls on shares you own or selling puts on a stock you would like to own is a much higher probability approach. That said, contracts are for multiples of 100 shares. If you don’t own 100 shares of TSLA already, or if you can’t afford to buy 100 shares, then you won’t be able to sell Tesla options. If you want to sell options, sell options on a stock with a lower price, like SOFI, for example.

      @@robertscifers2371 do NOT sell puts! You can get creamed. Avoid puts if you don’t understand calls. If you do understand calls, you might buy puts, but never sell puts.
      If you buy a put and you are wrong you only lose your investment. If you sell puts and you are wrong it can be WAY way worse.
