The beast tamer shoulders from the previous boss actually has some niche uses, the fights where your pet ends up soloing the bosses it's worth equipping the lvl 70 gear.
Haven't extensively tried BT yet, the first boss is really hard because of the tidal shield and spike. I've been working on some workarounds though, hopefully the fruits of my labor will be rewarded! SSC I've done 5/6, lady vashj's tainted cores seem to still make you frozen if you loot them. Unless there's some way to bug the boss out it may not be possible... but atm it seems to not be doable.
I tried this today and Azgalor first one-shot my pet (was fighting at the entrance) and then 2-shot it (I revived it while he was walking towards Thrall). I have about the same or better gear as you have in the video (369 ilvl) and used BM + Spirit Pet (Ghostcrawler) with the same pet talents you use. If the pet would have slowly withered away or so I figured I could have done something but the first kill it went from ~95% to dead in one hit (as if the ability that kills you went on the pet, but too far away to see anything in the log). Any idea whats going on there?
Looking at your video again, it looks like you MD the boss at spawn and take a couple of shots before running away to get the 100y distance - I didn't do that (I let pet engage while I was already far away) so maybe wasn't on his threat table, so maybe that messed things up *headscratch
@@Ashnagarr did you tame your pet in wotlk? If you tamed your pet before cata prepatch it's bugged and does ~ 60% of normal dps and spawns with only 6k health, then jumps up to its normal 100k after a second or 2. If you look closely mine was bugged too, I had to make sure it just had 100k health before running it in. This applies to all pets btw
@@Ashnagarr thinking on the fly but did you let the trash mobs or thrall engage him first? Maybe since your pet wasn't the tank for a second, I allowed doom to be cast on him? Just to be sure I'd probably start off like you said, MDing to pet and then booking it away. It may seem a bit buggy to not be on his threat table at all and he still casts it on pet maybe? Just a hypothesis.
