I love videos like this. They always get my booty up and moving. I recently just donated 99% of my closet to a local women's shelter who help pregnant and abused women. It felt so good to get rid of things that I could no longer wear.

Hi Lauren! You did another great job decluttering! I feel like I have to constantly declutter my closet because it depends on my mood or how attached to clothes I get so I find it helpful to keep going back to it here and there and I always end up decluttering something. A tip that helps me is to remember - the memory is not stored in the item. You won't forget the honeymoon if you get rid of the dress. And you have a way better souvenir than a dress you won't wear again - your husband!

Getting rid of clothes does not get get rid of the memories. Take a picture and then get rid of the clothing item. If it's not bringing you joy and not used or worn regularly, then it needs to go. You know how good decluttering makes you feel. Its like a breath of fresh air and a weight has been lifted. ❤

feel like you would benefit from a memory bin. put the clothes you dont wear that are mementos, like the baptism dress and the honey moon dress and put them in a bin. that way you are wading through them when getting dressed

Great job with you closet! It feels so good to get rid of stuff. I find it a little addicting and once I get started I just want to go through the whole house. 😂
I struggle letting go of clothes (especially tshirts) too because of sentimental value! But a few years ago I took my huge hoard of tshirts that I never wear and cut out the back or the pocket or just whatever and did a scrapbook of sorts. Would glue the shirt scraps to cardstock and add other mementos/photos from the concert or vacation on top. It turned out so cute (it sits on my coffee table & ppl love flipping thru it when they come over!) plus was able to declutter my closet & finally do something with printed photos that were just in a box

You could get those black or pink velvet hangers! They look so pretty and are uniform, and the clothes don't fall off!

My sister and I used to say "No wire hangers!" all the time growing up (though we did indeed have wire hangers!) and I think I never actually saw the entire movie that the quote is from! I had a pair of pants that I kept for YEARS just because I thought they were gorgeous lol! They were too small and I had no shirt to go with them, but they. were. GORGEOUS!! I finally said, someone else can find a shirt to go with these and will love them just as much as you do. ANd I let them go...FINALLY!
Hangers in one colour would be nice
If you have a photo of you in the outfit then the memory is preserved of the item better than seeing the item on a hanger in your closet. That helps me at least with decluttering sentimental clothing x
Great job, Lauren! The closet looks great. If you have any extra wicker baskets, you could put your toilet paper & other things in them & put them on that wire shelf in your closet.
You are doing great decluttering and it's always a funny surprise what you are finding lol. I agree takes those memory clothes out of your closet and pack them away with your keepsakes bins.

I strongly recommend keeping your wallet out of sight. If you want it in your entryway, put it in one of the top drawers. Still very easy and accessible, and much safer.
It's good to store things where you use them, like you are doing with that hairbrush and the sun screens. But do you dry shampoo your hair in the foyer? If not, I'd move the cornstarch to wherever you would do the dry shampoo.
I love that blue and white vase on your entryway table.
I recently got rid of an old band tee as well because it had holes and I think way too small. I held on to it for decades and now it was finally time to get rid of old items as I am in a totally different chapter of my life with a 4.5 yr old in my 50s...lol
I loved you laying down the closet rules and then immediately breaking them, easier 26:38 said than done. So funny you going downstairs for trash bags and getting a chocolate snack forgetting what you had gone for in the first place😂hysterical. You are the cutest and one of my fav to watch❤
Good evening, a drawer containing trays in different sizes keeps the drawer tidy. Putting things back loose in a drawer; make it a mess again after a few days.

I don't have a fancy closet with fancy hangers or organization, but I do use all white plastic hangers, and it makes it look more cohesive and organized. 😊

I love the functional use idea by your front door. You use the items there so keeping them in that area is perfect. I love the corn starch idea as dry shampoo. I am doing to try it as well. The dry shampoos have had many recalls from chemicals that are dangerous, and the chemicals make my head itch. ❤❤❤❤❤Corn starch is much safer.

My mom was a young girl in Italy during the depression and WW2. Fabric was scarce and she got married in a tan dress because white wasn’t available. She instilled in me how we should hold on to things, especially clothes, because “you just never know”. I do get rid of things, but probably not as much as I should. “Mommie Dearest”😬😂
If you have lemon essential oil, it will take the stickers off no problem.

I became widowed unexpectedly when i was 27 (im 30 now) KEEP your sentimental clothes. Get a container specifically for sentimental clothes. You can have blankets and things made out of them once you get enough. If it’s a good memory, it’s not clutter ❤️ if it’s just a random clothing item or a bad memory then it’s clutter.
Get bins clear if possible for top and lower part of closet ❤

Decluttering my closet is on my to do list, but it’ll have to wait until next week. We just got back from Gulf Shores and my baby boy is turning 1 so we’re doing his party this weekend bc my husband will be gone on his actual birthday (he works on a boat).

When Tmobile or another company gives away free items, I do not get them because they will just be more clutter.😂 If its something useful like an umbrella 🌂 or something I might reconsider. 😊

Question…. Since you hang most of your tshirts, what do you have in drawers? I fold all mine up and my closet is all dress clothes, skirts, dresses and blouses. All my shorts and tops are in drawers.
I keep my leggings, jeans, shorts, workout sets, sweats and undergarments in my dresser :)

What I do with my sentimental items I know I would never wear is just put them in a bin in the basement so they’re out of the way 😊

You could have a memory box with items or take a photo of the items the things are not memories as you pick them up you already have the memory .i changed all my hangers to grey and black velvet hangers my husband has the plastic ones no metal hangers in our house .
I literally just told my child we were waiting for dinner so no bananas and then the video showed bananas at the end. Just ironic
