I could not imagine shopping for music with just one genre called "music" ... fuck that genres are needed so don't call this music house or dubstep because when I go looking for drum and bass I am not looking for dubstep. You cant mix 140 bpm music with 170+ bpm drum and bass so no. Saying there is no need for genres is just dumb.
