Here's my review of the Bold Forms BF -01 Gladius The Dark Emperor, definitely NOT Megatron. This is a third party Transformers figure that's a triple changer. It was also designed and produced by one person. Very ambitious, but ambition isn't always successful...help me

The sad part is that the engineering on this figure isn't that bad, it's just the horrible plastic quality holding it back so much. Engineering can only get you so far if the end product doesn't live up to it
Oh definitely. When I was in Spain in 2019 my youngest brother got a handful of bootlegs from tourist shops.
The first two had pretty simplistic engineering but the plastic quality was so poor they came apart at the slightest touch. The third was a lot sturdier and I think he still has it - it was a bootleg of the 07 Voyager Ratchet mold.
I think it has too many fragile frames and thats why its so unstable
I understand that, I actually got this.....piece of shit figure....but! I actually went through and fixed most of the problems by taking my time and carefully going through and tightening the joints using Dr d-stars fixer elixir compound, but it took me almost a week to actually fix anything, now it is pretty good, I even decided to take it apart and repaint most of the plastic just so it looks good on my shelf

Ages 3+ and up were selling them alongside Open and Play's Big Spring. I bought Big Spring and I'm happy with it good thing those guys didn't talk me into buying that Megatron lmao.

One thing I can say about it being a pre-release copy, that's all you need to know about it. Because boy, does it feel like a pre-release copy. What else did you expect?
Plus, it's not helped by being made by only one guy. I don't think he intended for it to sell well, I think he made it as a little pet project to see how well he can make a triple changer.

To give the fans a Megatron with both modes, you know. But this Megatron had some... quality control issues. The fans literally had to put Megatron back together after every transformation. So eventually they stopped trying and left him as some "take apart and put back together" toy. Now he's just a mess of parts. I think the fans refer to him as just "The Mangle".

Honestly, she's a great concept and could've been a staple product. Too bad Bold Forms hasted him, and it's engineering requires extra quality control issues that Bold Forms doesn't want to provide even for an extra year, thus the "take apart and put back together" design. She truly has no hope.

He is acting and obviously being hipervolic about it when he talks about it, but during the transformation you can actually feel his struggle and disappointment through the whole process.
U can see his hands shaking semi violently but he kept his sanity through it.

Someone could always send him 2007 movie Payload. I spent 25 dollars on that guy, and he constantly falls apart, can't stand or pose without falling over, and sacrifices far to much for his gimmick. It's sad too because he looks so cool, but that claw gimmick is total garbage.
This toy is just the embodiment of the phrase “Good idea, bad execution.”
For one guy to have made this, is insanely impressive, it looks phenomenal at least, and for it to even transform and still look that good is just as impressive
I respect Jobbys opinion yeah it's still impressive actually tho. I know it took a lot of work too.

Yes, this was made by en enthusiastic fan and was a labor of love, but unfortunately, it was a poorly engineered labor of love, and it must still be said...

One of The Many horsemen The thing is that Boldforms didn't seem to learn *anything* from the criticism of Lone wolf, which had similar issues with a poor paint job, lack of solidity due to the lack of tabs and pegs and floppy hinges. The only thing Boldforms improved on was the instructions. There is making something, and then there is making something good. If Boldforms desires to continue his indie toy carrer, he needs to improve his craftsmanship; less he fade away into obscurity, like Daca Toys and Ark Studios.
