I've always found it strange that they allow fires in those iron circles which are quite nearby dry leaf litter and very flammable trees (think airborne embers), yet they won't let you have a tiny controlled fire in a Bushbox/Firebox stove on the beach many many meters away from the trees.

The trees are Casuarinas, natives found over large areas of Australia, my personal favourite. I love the way they whisper in the wind. And you ve got to love Bribie. Great video Eugen

Trees are Casuarina, they can sometimes dribble sap all over your tent.
