At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. I just finished reading Lorna Kelly's book "The Camel Knows the Way" and what an impact it's had. I'm nearly 10 years in recovery and her description of her 'dark night' struck terror in me to think of facing such spiritual pain and cleansing. Yet her message is not lost on me; we can (and will) survive the spiritual purification when we are chosen for a life of service. If there is an afterlife, I hope to meet Ms. Kelly in it. She is an example to me of the power of faith, service, humor, and recovery.

I had the pleasure of speaking at the same AA convention on two occasions one was springtime in the Ozarks and the other was in Tyler Texas I have been so fortunate to be given the gift of sobriety and to stand shoulder to shoulder with people like Miss Laura and many many others people that would no way for a boy from New Orleans drunk doped up whatever had the opportunity to meet anyone of this caliper.I truly believe that God brought me to AA and AA brought me back to God. I have met literally thousands of people who was just like me who dedicated themselves to sharing their stories with others so they would find the glorious life they had enjoyed. Yes I stood on the shoulders of spiritual Giants throughout the years thanks to them and the loving God I've enjoyed 32 years of sobriety.

I'm sad to just now hear of Lorna's passing almost 6 years ago. I have enjoyed her speaking for years and it's funny how you develop an emotional bond with somebody even though I never had the privilege of meeting her. 🙏❤️😢

In the Footsteps of the Camel is a classic spiritual journal of a 21st century woman. Hopefully this book will find its way to another publisher so copies can be in stores and bookshelves of more people who are looking for meaning in their lives. Inspirational!

I love Lorna! She's such a good story teller with a bit of humor. I'm in recovery too and I understand what she means about the power of sharing our stories. How lucky she was to experience Mother Teresa too.. Sounds like she was in the right place in her life to meet her. And why does the comment say RIP dear Lorna.. I hope she is alive. (??)

Lorna is a charming, articulate and interesting woman with a great lesson to share. She is a most attractive woman, but the red highlights in her hair detracts from her natural elegance. She is a superlative and motivational speaker.
