I love this channel! I used to drink daily to sleep and feel terrible all of the time. Now, I listen to this to sleep and feel ready for work in the morning energized.
Lmao. I kinda found my way back to this channel after a break but I used to do the same. Alcoholic for like 2 years. No more, just the occasional social beverage
Agreed. This serves as a great alternative on the lonely nights traveling for work. Staying in the hotel enjoying these stories instead of drinking my paycheck away
The story of Albert Fische sickens me, and I consume a lot of true crime content, but something about his debauchery makes me feel absolutely sick and unsettled.
He is absolutely horrible!! The first time I heard of him was in the Morbid podcast they did two segments very detail. Not sure if that’s a good thing.
Yea as soon as I heard the intro I said his name out loud as Joel did. I need a shower and an exorcism every time I hear about that DEMON! How he managed to never get mugged or stabbed in a bar fight makes me think he wasn't as crazy as we might think! Oviously he was insane but he kept it together enough I guess? He never confided in a "friend" or random stranger? He never pissed off the wrong person?IDK
Man, that last story got me so angry, but great narration, man. As much as it's hard for us to listen to these stories, sometimes I know it's equally hard for you to narrate. Thanks for your hard work
@simpleysims i caught a little bit of it when he started, but I changed it as I like to just listen to the finished product. There are truly monsters in this world, and some of them walk amongst us
That Albert Fish story was literally the most disgusting story I've ever heard. And I've listened to you read stories for a while now! And even in any movie, I would have never seen or heard anything like that.
@mynamessalma9351 I get it! It was in my mind all day long, and it was disturbing for sure! And I'm in my 30s and I've never heard of him! Not sure how
You know it's the strangest thing of all? Fish's 6 children told authorities that he was a good dad and he never abused them. He did have them stick pins in him and spank him with a paddle, but he never abused them. I don't understand how someone can kill someone else's child, but then keep the life of their own so sacred.
Jesus man, that last story made me sick to my stomach. I couldn't make it all the way through. Next time I'll take the warning seriously and just skip it
I have been listening for 4 years I have heard every single story plus all the sister Stations .Every night for hrs hearing the crazy world and people and unexpected beasts that dwell in darkness. Keep up the Awesome work. A plus story telling
Definitely one of the most disturbing episodes of Let's Read EVER... especially the story of Albert Fish. I had read about Albert Fish, but this was one of the most detailed accounts about his depraved and monstrous murders. Please keep up the great work!
Thank you for the warning!!! That last story was the worst thing I've ever heard. Had to stop the video and watch something else. I will never understand why some people are not spared these atrocious horrors. Rest in absolute paradise those poor innocent victims, their family and friends.
The grenade part caught me off guard, but the story about the man stalking in the rain was equally haunting. It’s a reminder of how fragile safety can be
Joel is the man. I know it wasn't here, but also listen to his podcast and just listening to one when Joel said "I was more nervous than a long- tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs", his delivery and timing was immaculate! I laughed for a good 5 min straight and was a very, very intense story. Hands down the best and truly think he's going to get a major offer when the right person hears one of the greatest in the world at his craft. Hope you read this Joel so you know what I'm sure many many others think as well.
You can literally hear Joel catch his breath at the end of the final story 😢my god, the depravity of that monster left my stomach in knots. Thank you for the upload ❤
I read the Albert story some years ago. But with not as much detail as in your telling. Albert was indeed an evil unto himself. There have been other murderers and serial killers, each with their own depth of depravity. But Fish...he has his own corner of hell. If there is such a thing, of course.
I can’t sleep without Joel’s Let’sRead channel and Mr. Ballin’s channel. It’s like audio inducing tranquility. I know everyone fawns for them saying the same thing but for me it’s like I won’t fawn around but I do hope Joel is blessed himself the way I and million others are. In all seriousness I think Joel is a good man. And deserves success abundantly!
I remember first hearing Albert Fish mentioned in a list of the worst (probably about 23 years ago), and I got curious and went to research him. His story was so unbelievable that I kept thinking it was made up. Especially the photographs and letters.
Yeah that last story was pretty gruesome. As a father to 4 amazing kids it really hit me in the chest. Thank you for the warning before the story though.
Thank you for the warning!! 🙏🏼 I really appreciated it! Please do this more often, there have been times I’ve had to turn off your videos because I was truly disturbed. This time I clicked off as soon as I heard the warning. Great video nonetheless! 💕
Love this theme, thank you for helping me relax with that beautiful voice of yours and very interesting storytelling. Eight years ago you were my very first scary storyteller, since then I’ve listened to other narrators, you are still my favorite❤. I am also a fan of Mortis, I like his accent.
There's nothing like some soothing scary podcasts from the best horror narrators including lets read to lull you to sleep quickly and make sure you forget you have to be up in 5 hours for school/work 😅✌️
I love listening to the yap and chat the next day at work cause I'm already asleep when you're live. The last story...... gives me the shivers and completely forgot about that story hidden in the lock box in the dark corner of forgotten.
@BunnieSmalls he goes on a live read called yap and chat. I think it's every Sunday and Wednesday? Roughly 2 or 3 hours long. He's really cool and interactive with chat on a more personal casual chat level. Then he'll read for a bit and check chat what they're saying and sometimes gets distracted from reading lol talks about his cat cause chat always wants to know. So ya, check those out sometime. So ya, I heard the last story roughly 12 hours ago!
There’s just a right way to read things. Idk how to really elaborate on that, but you do it, and it’s in the right way. “God. Damn. HAND GRENADE.” Like Buttah.
As soon as you mentioned Albert Fish i already knew the story because i read a book on him in high school, nonetheless your delivery on the story was superb.
Random but I love when there’s a write-in that begins with “English is my second language so please excuse me” followed by the most American English expressions you’ve ever heard 😂
👏Joel u out did ur self with that last story about Albert Fische.👏The detail was off the🪝. I'd fallen😴during that story in the livestream. It'll be interesting to hear what ur thoughts were about it & seeing the stream feed comments.😂 Listened Sun 2:55am 12/1/25/🇬🇧
Dude, that last story... jesus. When he started talking about targeting kids and the murder kit, I looked at the time remaining and decidee I just couldn't finish it. I consume a lot of true crime but this was too much. I dunno how you managed to read it. Man....
Glad to hear that. Took me years and actually dying to quit. Don't let that be your story
I am also in recovery! I used to shoot fent to sleep. And do meth when I woke up. So glad we made it through! Alcoholism is no joke though. ❤
I know people in your respective lives are so thankful you are all still in their lives. Have a happy & healthy long life, all of you ☺️
Agreed. This serves as a great alternative on the lonely nights traveling for work. Staying in the hotel enjoying these stories instead of drinking my paycheck away

He is absolutely horrible!! The first time I heard of him was in the Morbid podcast they did two segments very detail. Not sure if that’s a good thing.
It was hard for everyone to listen to on his live stream last night.
It should!
I suppose that's the point, ultimately, of content like this video?
Had to actually skip it
Man, that last story got me so angry, but great narration, man. As much as it's hard for us to listen to these stories, sometimes I know it's equally hard for you to narrate. Thanks for your hard work
Yeah it took him a while to complete his narration of this story last night in the live stream.
@simpleysims i caught a little bit of it when he started, but I changed it as I like to just listen to the finished product. There are truly monsters in this world, and some of them walk amongst us
Holy crap dude that last story was horrific. It’s absolutely disgusting how incredibly cruel and insane some people can be.
We have some mean people in this world 💔💯.
That Albert Fish story was literally the most disgusting story I've ever heard. And I've listened to you read stories for a while now! And even in any movie, I would have never seen or heard anything like that.
He is the absolute worst. Learned about him as a 13 year old who just got into true crime and couldn’t sleep for two nights I was so traumatized.
@mynamessalma9351 I get it! It was in my mind all day long, and it was disturbing for sure! And I'm in my 30s and I've never heard of him! Not sure how

Bruh I thought this was gonna be like human hunting humans typa predators 😦😦 I was not prepared
You know it's really really bad when Joel gives a content warning
How you were able to narrate that last story is beyond me. You’re stronger than I’ll ever be. I couldn’t even listen to it all the way through
stories like these are my "favorites" if that's the right word. sometimes humans are scarier than any act of fiction...
Life is more frightening than fiction.
Oh so very true.
Whoa. These were rough!
"Albert Fish was a real jerk." - Norm Macdonald
Anyone else listen to these to fall asleep?
I can’t go to sleep without it. It relaxes me and calms my anxiety
Every day 🥰
Faithfully lol 😆
I have been listening for 4 years I have heard every single story plus all the sister Stations .Every night for hrs hearing the crazy world and people and unexpected beasts that dwell in darkness. Keep up the Awesome work. A plus story telling
Saved it just for bed time!! Hahaha
Definitely one of the most disturbing episodes of Let's Read EVER... especially the story of Albert Fish. I had read about Albert Fish, but this was one of the most detailed accounts about his depraved and monstrous murders. Please keep up the great work!
ObsoleteOddity has a youtube video about him that goes in great detail.
Thank you for the warning!!! That last story was the worst thing I've ever heard. Had to stop the video and watch something else. I will never understand why some people are not spared these atrocious horrors.
Rest in absolute paradise those poor innocent victims, their family and friends.
Same. I took a few days break from listening
I love to fall asleep to these stories and I go back and fall asleep the next day with the parts I missed the night before ❤️
The grenade part caught me off guard, but the story about the man stalking in the rain was equally haunting. It’s a reminder of how fragile safety can be
Mondays and Thursdays my favorite nights of the week!
Started watching, or should I say, falling asleep to this channel not long ago and got gifted a membership! Made a crappy week a little better 😊
That last story put you to sleep? You’re a sick mf lmfao
@ I never make it past the second story but yeah I fall asleep watching murder shows too so I don’t disagree 🤷♀️
this channel never disappoints.
Your reading of old true crime stories are some of my favorite video's of your Joel :)
I teared up and almost threw up with the Albert fish story. 😢
You always make night shifts a lot more tolerable!
Same situation here
Joel is the man. I love the intro here, im not very young and this takes me back to an 80's show that doesn't exist, the sounds just take me somewhere else, I love it!
I read the Albert story some years ago. But with not as much detail as in your telling. Albert was indeed an evil unto himself. There have been other murderers and serial killers, each with their own depth of depravity. But Fish...he has his own corner of hell. If there is such a thing, of course.

That last one was absolutely brutal to listen to.. but I just can't seem to stop.
Listening to AF's story, I've never wanted a story to end faster.
Thank you for the consistent upload Joel! 🫡🫶🏼🫶🏼
Thank you for the warning!! 🙏🏼 I really appreciated it! Please do this more often, there have been times I’ve had to turn off your videos because I was truly disturbed. This time I clicked off as soon as I heard the warning. Great video nonetheless! 💕
Love your stories always and forever ❤
The old intro song is back, I'm so happy even before listening to any of the stories. Wish we got a full version of it.
OMG! That last story. The way those poor victims suffered is just sickening. 😔💔
Love this theme, thank you for helping me relax with that beautiful voice of yours and very interesting storytelling. Eight years ago you were my very first scary storyteller, since then I’ve listened to other narrators, you are still my favorite❤. I am also a fan of Mortis, I like his accent.

Got a bad tummy due to a chest infection this is helping to keep it off my mind
This is such a frightening example of what can happen to children to cause them to become violent monsters!!
As soon as a heard him warn us that that some may find the next story too disturbing I immediately Turned Up The Volume 😉
I love listening to the yap and chat the next day at work cause I'm already asleep when you're live.
The last story...... gives me the shivers and completely forgot about that story hidden in the lock box in the dark corner of forgotten.
How have you listened to the last story when he posted 28 minutes ago, your comment is 10 minutes ago, and the video is 54 minutes long? 🤔
@@bigv6724 ah! I’m always busy so I don’t think I’ve really tuned into those, but thanks!
@BunnieSmalls oh ya, working a 10,11 hour day i love listening to those long podcasts of stories.
There’s just a right way to read things. Idk how to really elaborate on that, but you do it, and it’s in the right way. “God. Damn. HAND GRENADE.” Like Buttah.
Wow. Hearing stories like this, gives me hope, because it makes me realize that we have come a lot farther than we think as a species lol
Excellent warning stories, be safe everyone
Thank you ❤😊!!
As soon as you mentioned Albert Fish i already knew the story because i read a book on him in high school, nonetheless your delivery on the story was superb.
Hell Yeah. This channel never disappoints.
I so agree.
If you're going to sleep, it's not good to hear this story! You'll get goosebumps!
Listening to this while at work, just makes me work faster 😂
As soon as you said the lawyer didn’t want to reveal those letters, I knew who this was about.
Good idea to include that warning.
Eating Ice cream Summer here New Zealand 🤠🌞
Joel, thank you again for delivering some of us boredom😂❤❤
14:07 my truest feelings is that everyone listen to this message because it’s 100% correct. It’s important to know what red flags look like ❤❤❤
Its morning here in India, but you posted so🤷♀️
Random but I love when there’s a write-in that begins with “English is my second language so please excuse me” followed by the most American English expressions you’ve ever heard 😂
funfact, albert fischer was the cousin of the esteemed albert einstein.
I did a presentation on Fish. I traumatized a class of college students. If you'd like me to post٫ there's a song about him. It's by a Vocaloid.
There's also a picture of his pelvis with the needles. It's...freaky.
Uh no fucking thank you
@@ouijalovelettersthat image lives rent free in my brain
You seem so happy about that
@ Not the fact that he was a disgusting person٫ no.
8 minutes ago ! Sweet ! Happy Thursday evening Joel 😊
The last story was ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC.
Most brutal true stories I've ever heard. The real monsters walk amongst us , they do not live within the pages of famtasy.
👏Joel u out did ur self with that last story about Albert Fische.👏The detail was off the🪝. I'd fallen😴during that story in the livestream. It'll be interesting to hear what ur thoughts were about it & seeing the stream feed comments.😂

Happy Halloween 🤣🤣🤣
Yayyy❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
S1: This is how psychopaths can operate. Charming, persuasive, people readers, chameleon-like, fantastic actors, and interspecies predators.
Dude, that last story... jesus. When he started talking about targeting kids and the murder kit, I looked at the time remaining and decidee I just couldn't finish it. I consume a lot of true crime but this was too much. I dunno how you managed to read it. Man....
The story of Albert Fish is the stuff of nightmares. HIs depravity is hideous
Great stories
Great finale!! 🎉
As a mom this one disturbed me most
Joel that was some history lesson wow one not to forget in a hurry
Sorry couldn't learn to this. Love the channel
W JOEL!
Heyyyy tuning in from MS!
Thank you Joel. Have a good weekend. (I'll skip the last story if this is in the same order as the Live.)
