Wanted to share my story about praying to God during disappointment. This is how He strengthened me when I cried out at the lowest point in my life.
When my daughter Michelle Brophy past away a couple of years back, my daughter Kelsey told me that she had asked God to let her know that Michelle was ok. She asked for God to send her a butterfly. I also wanted to know desperately that Michelle was ok but I would not ask for a sign because I was afraid if God answer me, I would not believe it was from Him. So I just prayed for months and cried out to God to just let me know that Michelle was ok. I'm sure those who have lost a child or loved one know how I was feeling.
Anyway, my wife Rene and I had been praying for Michelle for many days, but one night the amount of hopelessness I was feeling got to the point I voiced my despair to my wife. I told her, "With all that has happened to us this year, with Michelle dying suddenly, and Rich (Rene’s father) dying two months later, and the additional suffering we’ve gone through over the past 6 months, I don't think God hears our prayers anymore." That was the FIRST TIME I PUT VOICE TO MY FEELING of disappointment and abandonment by God. I had been feeling that way for many weeks but would not speak it, until that night.
Then the very next morning, Michelle was weighing heavy on my heart, so I went across town and I looked at headstones. When I got home I checked my email and I saw I had an email from Michelle Brophy. I had sold the single item I had on ebay and the buyer’s name who bought the item was Michelle Brophy. When I saw that name, I could not even process it. How many Michelle Brophys could there be out there? And what's the chance they would cross my path now, today? I thought, “Is this a sick joke?” My mind was desperately trying to process this. So I googled and checked to insure she was real person and a real address. Then I asked myself, “Is this God trying to speak to me?” And at that moment I looked closer at the email from this young lady and suddenly I noticed her email address. It was from Michelle Brophy and her email address was butterfly2b.
I do believe God will speak to us in many different ways if we truly open ourselves up and cry out to him. Every since then I have held onto that little miracle, it strengthens my faith, and its gotten me through many difficult days.

Pastor Lindell I live in N.C. So many of your sermons speak to me. I was diagnosed with cancer and I am tired and just stopped praying. God spoke to me today through you. Thank you for this powerful word. Be Blessed.

Pastor Lindell, Thandekile here from South Africa. I started my 21 day fast on Sunday and am doing it for the very first time. When I came to RUclips your sermon on fasting was the very first one that I watched and since Sunday I’ve been watching your sermons. God bless you, you are touching my soul and moving it in a way that I have never experienced before. I’m so excited there is a revival in me💃🏾

I've been really encouraged and broughtbackto perspective. What about finishing every sermon with a word of prayer?

We are so glad you have been encouraged by this message! For each of our services, we close the sermon with a time of prayer and response. At this time, we do not include the prayer in our video uploads, but will keep your recommendation in mind for the future! Blessings!
