I had a Xiaomi 11 Ultra. It was fantastic. ALso the zoom was crazy and that was like 5 years ago.
They wanted to get rid of that "cheap" sticker away. but redmi always should be for the low ends. But this is a pro plus model so overkill midrange that you should look for other options.

As someone who bought my Dad a Redmi note 10 pro for just $200 4 years ago and he's only starting to complain it's getting slow now, guess I know what to buy him now😂
I keep saying that, that redmi model was the last cheap redmi note with reaaaaally good specs. Nowadays these are expensive af. Had to buy a poco this year because I don't like spending that much money for a phone and the x7 pro is amazing!
To be fair tho, they have a lot of lineups, and with the same price, you will have similar camera optics specs, with everything else getting better over time. I have poco x3 from 2021, with the same price, now I can get 4x the processor/gpu speed, water resistant, OIS, better battery, better screen, better software with redmi note 14 pro 5g.

I don't think there was a time when an actually great laptop was $700. There were some that were good on paper but in reality they had at least some sort of a compromise. Either a crappy chassis or no discrete graphics were the most common problems in those, and they never ever had enough cooling
Flagship phones were more expensive in the late '90s than now. Motorola Startac was like 1.000$ 30 years ago. It was *a lot* of money back then.
I do believe you are referring to the Windows 95 Era laptops. Cars were drastically cheaper then, and a top of the line Kyocera was maybe $300

@Voice_Of_VijaySPoco uses a different launcher for Xiaomi, that's why there was not as big of a change in hyperos 3.0

Xiomi doesnt last tgat long tho sofware breaks but at least they solved battery issue which died quickly.

I had a Redmi Note 9 Pro a couple of years ago, it had a centered camera cluster, and it still wobbled. Not as much as my current Note 12 Pro, but still

@LoxSMC I don't own a xiaomi device (well, I do an old one, but that's an old one), so I'm not exactly familiar, but afaik they have been making it harder lately. What I've read is that there's a maximum number of people who can request a bootloader unlock (needing to request in itself is pretty bad) each day, so unless you spam request at midnight beijing time, you are not unlocking your device, or at least not in an official way. But anyone please correct me if I am wrong.

My Oppo Find X8 Ultra came with screen protector, 100w charger and case in the box. And it still dominates the camera phone market.

No they don't. I work in a tech store in EU and Xiaomi hasn't been putting chargers in the box since 2024.
My 14T Pro didn't sadly, however their genuine charger, even the 120W I got, is dirt cheap compared to other brands who charge (heh) an arm and a leg for it.
And mine did still have the included case + screen protector, which I do appreciate even though I replaced them with my own immediately 😅

I am on my second Note 9 , i broke my 128gb screen a few months ago, and had a backup 512gb note 9 that needed repair from internal condensation that was not repaired in warranty because of water damage policy at samsung, it was 6 months old when it stopped working completly before christmass, then took it in a bag with desecant silica bags, and in 6 months it got better, but i took it to a ocal repair shop to use ultrasound cleaning on the parts to be sure the corrosion is gone, it seems i lost an antena that shorted out, but 80% signal strenth is enough for me. anyway, if Xiaomi will keep the MicroSD card slot to Note 17 , maybe i will switch, but is there any alternative for the Note Pen on xiaomi? (With the screen currsor dot showing before you press the pen?) (google seems to suggest WACOM EMR)

It only says that you haven't experienced it yet, but for those who did, it's a facepalm moment 🤦♂, because after you have perfectly sealed it and cleaned everything up, you basically have to do it all again. You can't just leave it with a "meh ☜(ﾟヮﾟ☜) , it's working, who cares". At that moment you just know you "screwed" up.
