Some are still around. Royal Tobacco took me a bit to get use to. I love it. I think I also might have mistaken it for Royal incense because of the packaging

This is the one Library Collection fragrance I own. Got a sample early on in my collection and hated it. A couple of years later, I tried it again and almost immediately ordered a bottle, now that my nose had developed 😂. I'm going to wear this one today - it's a bit cool and raining outside, now, so I find this a fitting fragrance to wear. I really admire this one - there's something a bit posh behind this beast.
It's crazy how our nose changes as the years go on... I think it has to do with experience and all the things you smelled in the time between the first time you smelled it and the second time years later... that's why I never sell my fragrances
A spot on review to the scent I think, the comparison with the first aid kit is really good and the slightly artificial.
I have had an image and feeling of libraries and a lot of old dusty books made of leather, some cheaper ones with synthetic leather, printing ink and old papers in a rustic environment of old wooden furniture.

That's great that you got your hands on Boka! I love Zelen (it's my favorite take on haitian vetiver right now) and I'll probably be buying Suze in the spring after sampling it recently. They're expensive, but the scent profiles are there to back it up in my opinion.

I just got my nose on some Amouage at the beginning of the month, at Neiman Marcus. It was especially cool to try the Attars! I was overwhelmed with all the fragrances that I had never seen in person, let alone gotten to try! I hope I can go back soon; it's a few hours away, so I can't go that often.
So glad you got to smell them ... I wouldn't be here doing this if it wasn't for Amouage 🤌🤌🤌

I don't have this one, don't wear G Guilty Absolute much, nor the Blue Beast clones I have... but I'm really looking forward to wearing Black Iris again this winter--such that we get one!
Yes as a Texan Boy I have given up on seasonal perfume and just wear whatever I want whenever I want 🇨🇱🐏
@RamseytheRam 😂👍 I do a bit of thar too! But South Florida's heat and humidity keeps me from most of it, unfortunately. I love when we get away to drier, cooler climates, for many reasons of course. But perhaps even more than I should because I can wear my favorite "Fall & Winter" fragrances there!
Looked up the Boka house, super interested in a review on those fragrances. A bit pricey but sounds great.
For sure I will give my early impressions of them soon 🙂

Nice job, Ram! It’s such a difficult one to describe, but you did it justice. That said, especially if you have not smelled GGA, then I can’t imagine anyone could really know what to expect. I should know… one of the decant sites was discontinuing it, so I blind bought 30ml. Boy was I surprised! Should also say, I’ve never smelled GGA (yeah, I know. Revoke my membership card!). It smells like nothing I’ve experienced before or since.
At first it was an instant regret, but then I kept going back and it crept up on me. I still rarely wear it, but it is an awesome creation in the literal sense. I pull it out, am awed and then put it away lol.
Do you smell the styrax in it? I struggle to get that. As you say, the Leatherwood pretty much blocks out everything and the sun.

I think the styrax is part of what makes it leathery... but you should force yourself to wear it more... it's not as tough a wear as it seems at first...but I did choose to wear it on my work from home day so maybe subconsciously I took it easy on my co-workers lol

Very cool review. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on Rose Incense. It's such a beautiful creation. Old school Amouage at its best (I'm digging into Omanluxury's private collection right now and it's giving me huge Chong-era Amouage vibes!). About marjoram, Jorum Studio (if you're familiar with them) makes a fragrance called Carduus, based on a bunch of Scottish wild medical and savory herbs and the opening is basically like getting beaten with a bouquet garni of marjoram haha.

That sounds awesome...never smelled that omanluxury line...but I assume they were heavily "influenced" by Amouage
@@RamseytheRam For sure, after all they're both from Oman. Their "main line" is easy to get into but the private line is definitely rooted in traditional Middle-Eastern perfumery, heavy in oud (and quite animalic in a few cases). Beautiful stuff.
Gucci guilty absolute both for women and men are available in France and Switzerland, I've been hearing it's discontinued for the last couple of years and its still available almost everywhere here
It's probably just old stock...from my understanding they aren't making any more 😕
Yooo I have a nifty fifty of XI and I’m saving it for when I reach a new frontier in life. Really happy to own it but the wears aren’t exactly a nasal buffet if ykwim. Stoked you have XII 🐏 the modern bottle doesn’t burn your fingertips when holding? 😆

Hey Ramsey, Gucci Guilty Absolute is still in production and can be bought on Sephora and other retailers.
According to parfumo it is Discontinued... maybe that is just old stock 🤷🏻♂️

I smell almost a bandaid 🩹 type smell in Gucci guilty absolute.if you ever get a chance to smell zoologist t-Rex. There’s this new carpet pad smell once you smell you cannot get it out of your head. Oh and that mesquite barbecue smell. I think a city on fire from Imaginary Authors also has the bbq smell. There’s a few others like those two mentions. That have it as well. I guess it’s from combining a few notes that do it. Not a perfumer obviously. Orto Parisi Terroni kind of has it. Didn’t like the way that smelled at first. But I’ll be honest some days I crave that sort of thing.
I love T-Rex... it's one of my favs from that perfumer
I sampled Interlude man (modern batch) and it truly smelled like the scene where Seth is crawling out of the transporter in ‘The Fly’. I’m going to let it sit to allow my nose to reconcile the leather in there but tell me what was your very first impression? It wasn’t utterly repulsive??
Not at all... I loved it from first sniff
For me it took 3 wears across multiple months, loved it more every time. That's how amouage fragrances were under chong. Give it time and be excited that your horizons are getting broader in 4k

I love your wildly descriptive take on Opus XI. As a person who loves Furyo and Tenere I want to be challenged. "Everyone has a plan until they're punched in the face" Mike Tyson. My current daily is Overture by Amouage, definitely a zero fucks given creation 😁

Opus 11 is too rich with the aroma of majoram, which makes the perfume smell like gasoline.

I didn't know what Dettol was until I just looked it up...but yeah I can see that industrial cleaner vibe with the dry smokey oud
