You should be able to get fixed and not replaced. Good luck on the repair. Enjoying your style of travelling this great country of ours. Happy travels guys.
Nice work guys. Glad to see you out enjoying your new van. That sucks about the windscreen. That happened to me too 🤦🏽♂️ I went and got a DIY windscreen repair kit to pop some resin in there to stop it cracking further. Glad I did because the very next day we were driving again and a rock hit the exact same spot than last time, I kid you not! That would have really cracked it further if I hadn’t of repaired it beforehand 👍🏽
What are the chances of it hitting twice in the same spot! That's lucky you repaired it! Thanksnfor your comment, we will look for a repair kit. We are loving the new van, can't wait to get out to more epic spots!
Adelaide hill is hectic 😂 was a white knuckle ride the first time I went down 😂 shame you didn’t record it😂💩. They should have a toilet at the bottom to relieve yourself.
Guys I was dring a V8 Landrover back in 2004 & towing a 25ft van & had no problems with Adelaide hil, just choose your gears & all will be well. Wish I was back traveling like you guys but did my trip around Aus & my wife & I & our little poodle loved every minute of it. Would do it again but medical problems prevent. Travel safe hey as lots of idiots on the road & plenty of semi's.
Hey listen guys, as Derek the man was making the coffee you said it was 6.30 but your clock says 7.05. Who do we believe hey🤪 maybe a new clock in order 😏
Great episode you guys 👌🏻👌🏻 I enjoy seeing real life on the road, working and managing travel in between. Great info on how your new battery system is going too and by the looks of it, seems to be set up perfectly for your guys way of travelling 😬👍🏻 keep up the good work
The battery system is really impressing us. Perfect for what we do! Yeah there is a lot of planning and behind the scenes travel. Big trips like this one taken it out of you woth the travel around work. Thanks for the support 🙌
Woomera is a town that was specifically built to accommodate the Scientists and ancillary staff that worked on the station. I remember, when I was a teenager, my neighbour's transport company often brought American cars back from Woomera to ship back to the US for the Americans who would return home after extended work stays up there. It has been a testing range for quite a few friendly nations, mostly European. There was also a Radar station of historical significance up there. I believe that flying drones is prohibited in Woomera and surrounds .
Wow thats incredible. It's amazing the places you come by around Australia, all with their own history! Luckily we didn't fly the drone. Just sensed it wasn't allowed! Thanks for the info!
Tha ksnso much Mick, we are loving being back on the road. Just spent 2 nights on a paddock in the NT, nothing around, just the best! Thanks for your support!
We live in the hills and do the freeway down and up multiple times in a day. We’ve towed down and up the freeway-towing up is more difficult as tricky on car engine. Going down, just stick to the left and go slow…..and you obviously got there!!!✔️👍🏻❤️
Oh wow, you live in an absolutely gorgeous part of the country! Deryck and I were blown away by the hills! Yeah we went super slow and managed to get down safely. Up was worse than down but probably because we did it in the dark! Have an awesome week 🤙
Found your channel via watching Sarah & Keenan, my wife and I are currently binge watching your channel. We love you guys 😅, but could you tell us what Sue does for work on the road? We are new subscribers 👍 Safe travels
Only a couple of months ago we had a chip in our Cruiser windscreen identicle to your chip. We got it repaired with epoxy at a windscreen repairer. It's very close to invisible and shouldn't split further. I ducked when the rock came at me but the Cruiser didn't unfortunately.
@@suelandolt6840 You need to get it repaired as soon as possible to stop dirt getting into the crack. The places that repair them also have tape crack patches to keep the crack clean until the repair is done. It's good to have these in the glovebox.
Don't really need a new screen. It's not in your direct viewing area and your gunna get plenty more chips so just live with it. Good vid, so lucky can work and travel.
Hey there I'm hoops I just seen your car and van at the caravan park we are staying at in sharkbay I also have a channel I was filming up here but our car has decided to do a gearbox so now we're stranded until someone can drive up and pickup our boat anyways if I see ua around I'll come say hello

Thanks so much for the support and comment. Yeah Deryck is great with planning around my work. Takes a bit more planning but works well. Have an awesome week!
Yeah agreed it isn't a great road at all. I can imagine there are plenty of issues and fatalities. We don't enjoy doing it but unfortunately only way in and out! Thanks for the support and comment 🤙
Love your video's, we have the new offroad van and just saving money now. How much would you reccomend to save? House will be rented out I wanted to save 50k but what's the minimum for a trip? We will work in Port headland half way on the trip
Hi guys a question about your fuel comsumption, do you know what your litres/ 100km rate is? By the sounds of it , it is not good. We have a toyota 76 series (short wheel base wagon) towing a 3000 kg van and are getting anywhere between 19 litres and 23 litres / 100km, and no van 13 to 15 litres / 100km. Plus we travel in 4th gear doing around 90 to 100 km/hr. Have you had anyone look at it, might need a dyno tune. Ps. Great content and very entertaining. Keep up the good work. Regards Andrew and Susan
Thanksnguys, we are getting 28 to 34l to 100kms. We need a dynamic tune for sure. You sound like you are getting great mileage. We will try and get the tune done as soon as we can. We also do between 90kms and 100kms but 4th gear is interesting!
Sounds thirsty, im a 2014 200 series with weight gcm at 7700 heading north and average is 19per hundred.maybe get it tuned sounds a bit high. Like your video by the way.
Thanks Doug, will take tour advice on that one and get it repaired. Yeah Alice is very different but awesome. Spent 2 nights in a paddock out of town and was absolutely stunning. Thanks for the support 🤙
LOL 😆 a lot of people ride their brakes comin down the Adelaide hllls. Just use engine braking where you can. Great episode. 👍 Haha small windscreen chip for here in Australia 🇦🇺 where most Sth Aussies buy a car with 2 to 3 chips in it.
Yeah the hill is something else. The new rig managed much better than the Ford but steep declines really give us white knuckles! Ahaha. Thanks for the support and comment!
Another great video guys. I’ve driven Cairns to Adelaide return every yr. Sometimes take Mi Isa, Alice springs drive. Kulgera area fuel is always crazy prices. Loving your trip 👍

question the antenna pole and clamp you have for the external antenna, do you have any details you can share? I know you have moved to Starlink my preference is to stay as muck on 12v as possible. Im sure you have looked into it but I find a 12v laptop charger use far less power also, and can be charged while you are driving without the need of the invertor. Thanks for the video
I feel your pain mate. 185 litre tank getting me 550ks towing 3.2t on 35 inch tyres. Just got back from Alice and blew a hole in my wallet 😂. 79 life 👍

Thanks Clint, we are really nervous drivers when it come to steep inclines and declines! I can imagine you would get used to it after a couple of trips with no dramas.
Hi Dean, we were up near Hahndorf other than that there is a big hill decent out of Adelaide heading north. You will be all good, just need to drive to the conditions.
Another great episode Deryck and Sue, the van looks fantastic but please use your grey water tank, nobody wants to camp in someone else's shower/dish water puddle, or at the least put a bucket under the waste pipe and water a tree or grass with it.

The old left the coke on the back of the truck as you pull out (ranges overnight stop) definitely done that before 🤣 great episode again guys 👍🏼
Ahah yes Deryck does that all the time! We have driven like 100kms with the coffee cup on the bull bar!
Some windscreen repairers can do a invisible repair to the windscreen without replacing the whole window but depends on how bad the chip is.
absolutely, no need for a new window. Can even get the resin from auto shops or ebay
Thanks so much, will look into repair. Will save us some $$$!
