32 gb ram is an improvement over 16 in dx12 (even on max low) because dx12 uses more ram than dx11 and can surpass 16gb ram sometimes especially in battle royale, also 32gb ram is becoming more and more necessary as newer games are starting to recommend 32gb of ram

@@Trey-dg8ywas long as both channels are equal, it’s good. Just don’t have unequal ram because you will get a bottleneck
you wouldn't wanna do 24 because that would be 3 sticks you either want 2 or 4 for dual channel or it will hinder performance @@Trey-dg8yw

If you plan on getting more RAM in a system, see these quick notes:
1. Your CPU only has a limited amount of memory channels (typically 2 or 4). Populating all slots with lower density sticks may cause boot times to be longer, latency to be greater and many other factors.
2. When upgrading, get higher DIMM densities. Instead of 4x8 sticks for 32GB, do 2x16 for 32GB.
3. Get the highest speed RAM your CPU can handle. It'll be in 'Mhz' and you can check Intel or AMD's website for your CPU specs. (Or check your RAM speeds in task manager)
4. If your RAM isn't running as intented, turn on the XMP or D.C.O.P in your computer's BIOS. (If you don't have the setting in the bios its fine, it won't affect the computer majorly)
There's so many things to talk about RAM, I just provided some of the basics of you guys on upgrading your Random Access Memory.
Do you recommend upgrading 2x8 to 4x8 Ram G.Skill Trident Z 3600MHz with an I5 9600k?
@@fadihamandi6146 let’s look over this: Your CPU is the i5-9600k which is a good chip today. The compatibility your CPU can handle for RAM is only DDR4 2666mhz. You can go for the current 4x8 config right now and upgrade your motherboard and cpu later on and use the ram to save a buck. However, if you don’t plan on upgrading, you should probably just get DDR4 2666 RAM to save money. Also, doing a 4x8 setup may not be ideal. You’d be better off doing a 2x16 RAM setup since your CPU only has 2 memory channels (basically can only manage two sticks at one time). It’ll run with four but not as efficient.

@@accow5206 Hi, the i5 12400F will only run at a maximum of 4800mhz. I don't think your bios or the architecture of your CPU will allow you to go past the 4800mhz threshold. Even though the RAM is above your CPU specs, setting an overclock won't budge the CPU to accept it and it will just run at its maximum rated CPU speeds. So to conclude, you do not need to underclock your RAM speeds if you are at the rated speeds already.
@@syIer. on the task manager, the ram speed is 5600. So it’s actually functioning on this speed. Im just scared that it could hurt my cpu or cause it to run more

@icantthinkofaname5092 people like to actually go outside, meet up with friends, etc. Its kinda hard to fit a desktop, Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse in a backpack, or even a suitcase for that matter, But I certainly can fit a laptop, Charger, and a Mouse in a backpack.

can u try undervolting ur GPU and CPU and see if that improves ur performance?
Undervolt for CPUs is suppossed to be locked on intel processors from gen 10th or newer, but urs is 9th gen, if undervolt is locked in your pc, just downgrade ur bios version until u get undervolt back, some laptops never lost the undervolt
yes that will probably boost his fps since he is on a laptop and one of his fans doesnt work so the temps are gonna be lower and fps is gonna be higher

It doesn't only depend on RAM. There are many other factors such as your gpu and cpu
The higher ram you have, your 1% lows will be much higher. It also is good for multi tasking to have higher ram, especially in games which need a higher ram to run such as Beam NG drive. It helps even more whenever you have your settings higher and not set to performance. This is because in performance, the game doesn't need much ram to run, but when using higher graphics settings, you can actually have a purpose for more ram.

@@Trey-dg8yw24 does help, I have that amount and beamng uses more than 16 gigs, it’s also much smoother to run games and almost never stutters in many games

Correction: 32GB is not overkill. Its fine for gaming on some decent settings. 8 gigs is not ok, 16 is fine, 32 good, 64/128 only for streaming

@Redditor101 uh in fortnite if you have 32gb it will use 16 17gb if you have 16gb ypu only have 12gb that's usable so your losing fps windows uses 4.1gb to run so you have to factor that in

the frames really depend on your processor and your gpu, ram can help improve the speed of the game, less clutter. but the real frames come from those 2 pc parts.

Great demonstration but sadly my 1x8 gb of ram isnt doing me good. even on performance mode i get like massive stutters and very inconsistent/low fps drops . Mines a single 8gb ram stick with 2667 speed

@@joseolvera9287 if you plan to replace the memory ram and your processor supports the 4400mhz frequency then take the 2x8gb 4400 cl19. Compared to the 3200, you will have smaller fps drops.

When you switch from console to pc/laptop how much did ur aim improve
it goes down significantly with next to no aim assist on controller pc, but quicker response times higher refresh rates and frames essentially means your playing a much faster/smoother game on a decent pc/laptop. With that being said though if you only play casually on controller i would stay on console as you have insanely strong aim assist and wont be in any 30/50 man end games where console drops to like 5 frames, hope this helped

he does have a lower end pc, you’ll notice a bigger difference if you had better specs.
Right when I had 8 gb I was barely touching 200 in creative on native I got 16gb now and don’t have a consistent 200 in creative so I’m upgrading to 32 gb which I’m sure will help me I get tired of lowering my resolution Bc I got a hp pavilion 1650 i5-9300 same build u got but a different laptop and I don’t get no where as much fps as u do and I have all the correct optimizations

just bought 16gb today comes in 4 days so it will add to the 8 i had for 2 years i get stutters in mutiple games running 4k native high
16gb ram is sufficient enough for gaming any higher will give you around the same performance but if you want to get into content creation or streaming or something that just runs in the background 32gb or higher will be very handy leading to less stutters and fps drops :)

can u add diff model rams to your current ram? i have 8gb ram rn so if i buy another 8gb of ram but it aint the same model will it still help my performance etcc
Dual channel is better + you would double your ram size, meaning you will get better performance. But try to buy the exact same RAM, otherwise it can not be working well together (buy the same exact 8gb u have right now just in case)
If u still want to buy a different one, figure out if ur motherboard supports ddr3 or ddr4 (you can see that in a program called "speccy" ) and make sure to buy the right speed, for example if u have ddr3 1600mhz, buy a ddr3 1600mhz one (speccy might show half of ur ram speed sometimes, so just double it, if it says 798mhz for example, its still 1600mhz)

Summary: 8GB of ram has alot of fps stutters. 16GB can stable over 250 fps building in creative. And 32GB has not much of a difference that 16GB.
