Wow i'm surprised people still play this. It's a shame they don't add CAS vehicles to squad. I always hated the limited vision while flying in PR but still, used to love PR
Squad will unfortunately never get close to PR. It’s easy to tell based on the frequency of updates. I can see them adding attack helos, but they’ll prop save jets for the sequel
@@CoolSmoovieso you're saying, despite how _marvelous_ Squad looks (and plays?), PR is still a more complete experience? (installed and tried PR this week literally on my toaster laptop)
It’s just hard to compare a game that’s been getting additions and updates since 04 to a game thats only came out in 2015. It’s only natural for PR to have way more things/content than Squad
@@Shark93 PR has had 17 years of development and still receives big updates to this day. About a week ago they released PR 1.7.1 which includes anew maps, HUD updates etc. Another recent update saw introduction of ballistic fire control systems for armored vehicles. IMO, Squad only beats PR in graphics. PR is hands-down the more complete experience.
@@Acromarts thanks for the reply! Yeah I saw the 1.7.1 trailer pop out the other day, impressive indeed and ALSO that the game is still supported after _so long time,_ when triple A titles get the cord plugged after some years in case of inactivity (and certainly NO new development whatsoever)

This is probably the best game I have ever played despite the limitations of the engine.
imagine this game with the distance of view like in arma 3 or arma 2 where you can fly properly and see the target from a long distance .
Also, you are very good pilot, i wish i could fly as good as you .

Long distance view will make this game very unoptimised, but it would be cool if you could work around it and get better fps

Well damn this game still has players? I played PR maybe 5 years ago over the summer and haven't played it since. If this game is still active I rlly want to try it out again!
Still quite active. There were 500-600 players on this past weekend. Game is still a great time!

Yeah it isn't easy to get. I'd recommend playing on lower pop times/servers to get the time in. Also obviously learn the basics in co-op/single player first. I'd be happy to let you join me sometime in CAS/help you learn the ropes in co-op if you'd like, just let me know your IGN and stuff and I'll look out for you!

your effects settings are on low??? when i shoot LG or LT rochets from apache i get big beautiful explosions but yours are small

Any tips for playing CAS?
Pretty good with helis not jets
It'd be easiest to hop on a test airfield server and talk with you.
Assuming you already understand the game pretty well and can take off/land etc. Some big tips I have are:
1. Use all your different views while flying high to find enemy jets and spot them first so you can fire first
2. Minimize time that you can be locked by ground AA as much as possible
3. If you are attacking ground make sure to pop flares slightly before you are in AA range. Continue to flare every couple of seconds until you are out of AA range
what does CAS mean?
CAS is a way to refer to an aricraft or helicopter that has offensive combat capabilities. I'm not sure but i think it means "combat air support" or something along this.

@@ironman8257 I'm highly considering giving it a go. I used to play this back when I was little when you legit needed BF2 and all DLC's to run PR, I only played it a few times and never fully got into it but watched many videos. I've heard the playerbase has multiplied 5 fold the past month; if so, definitely worth looking into.
