During World War II, Adolf Hitler alone amassed thousands of paintings as Nazis stole countless European masterpieces along with gold, jewelry, rare books, and more. Now 78 years after the end of the War, the story of the greatest theft in recorded history is far from over as artworks that were thought lost are discovered and endless litigation among individuals, museums, and nations continues over who has the legitimate claim to valued artworks.
Dr. Edward E. Gordon is an internationally known historian, author, and speaker. For over 20 years he taught at DePaul University, Loyola, and Northwestern universities in Chicago. In addition to authoring over 20 books and 150 articles in the areas of history, business, and education; he has given history presentations at museums, universities, and libraries across the country.
