wow..tune @ around 24 mins is wicked! classy, deep tech house...no debate on how influential these pioneering musicians were in shaping the characteristics and nuances that we all love in these genres!
I remember around this time.. freshman in college and I used to read Muzik all the time and go record shopping down the street.. amazing to be alive when you could still do that! I remember liking some Pure Science records.. I thought they (Muzik) were biased toward UK producers (like Surgeon, who is pretty shite) but this was one of the good ones.
Yeah Muzik was primarily a Uk mag. I still reckon this freebie was Phil (Pure Science) at his absolute peak, and prob the best thing Muzik ever gave away
reading your comment hypercatjohn, is what good music is about. Reaching into the inner depths and core of your being. Pure Science is a gift from the universe! x
Without sounding funny or condescending and Hypercatjohn, i'm curious why you would compare Pure Science to Tall Paul? ..... different in their own right. But would love to hear your thoughts on this. :-)
Fuck man this is EXACTLY the kind of tech-house I was looking for! Perfect balance between instrumental tech-house and just a little bit of vocal! What are you mixing on?
All done live on a Mac. I can’t think of a more groundbreaking mix. I know him via a friend these days. I lasted about six months before I went all fan boy, “you changed my life” on him. Don’t think he knew how to take it, but he seemed happy. He has zero idea what he did.
Still have the CD. Very underrated producer /dj

I love this in ways normal people will never understand !
stellar mix indeed! I heard this mix over 15 yrs ago and I just heard it again now.
Timeless...
house music all night longggggg
LITERALLY changed my world this mix, it made Tall Paul's look absolutely rotten in comparison!
Junglist Movement So true! This was like a breath of fresh air, even Pure Science's own Fabric mix paled in comparison :)
Most artists fabric albums do, they have little control over the content - What Fabric says, goes.

This was streets ahead when it came out, had it as a cover disc from the magazine, still sounds fantastic
