This video was suuuper informative. I just bought an upright bass and want to learn to play all my favorite psychobilly songs on it. I think I'll start by doing what you said and do the pull-slap-slap on every string for at least an hour a day. Thanks for posting this 🤘🏻

Nice slap work. Personally I started using that circular arm motion on drag triplets to creat a trample speed in my rhythm. The more dragged out the tempo the bigger the circle. That’s my excuses

I can definitely understand how it can give you some momentum on drags

everything in this video covers the basics. If you mean what gear, get a cheap chinese bass on ebay and some nylon strings (i peronally dont recommend weed whackers)

@@TommasoBass96 yes those basses should be fine, just dont go all out on a very expensive bass for your first one. Strings I'd recommend are Eurosonic (Presto if you're in Europe), Innovation, steel strings are fine, but I'd recommend a lower tension set than what will probably come on the bass.

@@TommasoBass96 Setup meaning, bridge adjusted mostly, some basses come with terribly high action and fingerboards needing to be planed etc. Go with an adjustable bridge so you can experiment with what action height works best for you. Presto is a great choice because they can work with magnetic pickups as well if you wanted
