    The disappointing aspect of this is they cannot remember further back than a child. Wouldn't it be strange if they could remember being born or even better before they were born

      There is at least one, her name is Rebecca Sharrock. She has diagnosed HSAM and remembers back to being a newborn. She has a channel called ALifeJournal.

    I think there are a lot of us who have this, we just don't advertise it. I remember every day of my life since I was two years old, when my mother went to the hospital to give birth to my little brother. I'd never had a single day away from my mother prior to that, and it was very traumatizing to me, and I've never forgotten a single day of my life since.

    As an example of reprogramming your brain to hate something that is bad for you, I reprogrammed my brain to hate smoking by the following method:I told myself, as part of a repeated internal mantra, that I did not need a cigarette to live and all it was doing was hurting me...there were no benefits to smoking a cigarette. That is how I quit smoking and beat the addiction. Mind over Matter.

    I would think that the human brain has a finite amount of space, Meaning the more you have in it the less room available for other things.

    Excellent question, IMHO. Does Henner remember the lines from every script? Does the ability generalize to make playing the notes to a violin piece easy? How do they approach learning? Is there a photographic component? i.e. do they remember text books they read in high school?
    This was the most interesting 60 minutes I can remember. Actually, I can't remember another one...

    I have this memory and there are good moments and there are really awful moments because I can remember every moment of my life as if it were a movie. I relive many moments of my life both good and bad but I am most haunted by the bad moments that I wish I can go back in time and change. I am also a psychic medium, though I do not advertise that due to my own inability to recognize that gift. I think my psychic ability and "video" memory are connected.

    how does this affect people who suffer from addiction? What if you can never forget the calming effect of a cigarette? Or the head rush of doing cocaine?

    You do have a valid hypothesis considering that the basis of OCD has to do with an inefficient caudate nucleus disallowing proper gating to the thalamus. Seeing these people have a caudate that that is 7-8 SDs above the normal could make their "disorder" similar to the neurobiology of OCD. Good correlation brother.

    The addiction center of the brain can be reprogrammed by the logical center. Simply put, if you demonize an addiction and restructure your mind to condemn that addiction practice then you can reprogram your brain to "hate" that substance. This type of reprogramming takes a shear act of mind over matter which is possible given the correct mindset...this is not metaphysical.

  • @OmegaWolf747
    @OmegaWolf747 14 лет назад

    I'm not sure if I would want that ability or not. We all have things happen in our lives that we're glad we can forget (embarrassing and sad moments, etc.), but these people can't forget them and still feel the raw emotions. On the other hand, a great way to blackmail your kids or significant other. So I'm just not certain.

    @messengerofjesus But of course. However, bad things still happen to good people, such as the death of a loved one. Surely, one wouldn't wish to remember that with such clarity even 20 years down the road.

  • @glephi
    @glephi 14 лет назад

    @OmegaWolf747 I was thinking along the same line when it occured to me that I already remember all the "embarassing and sad moments" anyways. Don't we all remember things like your first breakup or the death of a loved one? Its the mundane day to day things like what was I doing at work 3 years ago on a given day that I cannot remember. Being able to remember these things when I wanted to recall them would surely be useful.

    I cried all the time and was terrorized by my bountiful memories. People thought I was crazy for knowing all that and they thought I was a lier.lol. little children would forget me even though i remembered them so it was sad. Id play with 3 year olds and a day later theyd forget me and yet id remmeber them and theyd be meen to me.lol. Kids were very evil to me!!!!!!I did not do good in school since I hated school. I was surrounded by children picking thier boogers yet I wanted to play piano.

      @RaniaIsAwesome You'll be surprised. There are advanced awakened Souls, Self-Actualized Human Beings who dream and can remember agreeing onto this Life before Conceptions. And our Souls self-realized that Time is but a construct. And can see the final day I draw my last breath. Esoteric bread crumb for you: "Pineal Gland" "3rd Eye" #MassAwakenings
