Ah, the inimitable Tom Moulton, master of the remix! This will have it's first official release on Vinyl for "Record Store Day" on 13 April, 2019....I'm just not yet sure if it will be available in the US and the UK.
Has the extra lyrics that Cruel Summer '88 has @ 4:24 "Who can I find while I'm trapped here inside these four walls." Not in the original album or single mix.
maybe a stupid question, but is this a brand new version that Tom just remixed in 2018/2019? because if it was done way back in the 80's, why on earth would it NOT have been released at the time? why are we just hearing it for the first time 30 years later? you'd think it would've leaked online since then
By Justin Myers It's a New Version for this release. From write up: Bananarama Remixed: Vol 1 also features their very first single Aie A Mwana, remixed by Ewan Pearson, who's worked on tracks by Depeche Mode, The Chemical Brothers, and Goldfrapp, plus a new version of 1983 Top 10 Cruel Summer by remix pioneer Tom Moulton, and a further remix of Venus by Leo Zero. It will be available on Record Store Day, 13 April 2019
@@apollozero thanks, but I read that same press release - it doesn't specify either case, the language is too vague :( That text refers to the remix as "new" but a lot of these marketing/PR people stretch the truth, so that anything Previously-Unreleased is like "new" to them, and they'll use that language just to get people excited about the release / Tom Moulton is like 80 years old right? if he really did do this remix in 2019, it must've taken him a heck of a lot of $$ to come out of retirement for just this one song :p I wish the press release would've been more specific!
I’m friends with Tom Moulton on FB; he did this remix specifically for Record Store Day. He’s currently working on remixes of various other ‘80s tracks for a possible album - his remix of ‘Borderline’ is part of the same project. He’s also been trying to get an ABBA remix album off the ground for the past two decades but Benny & Björn can’t be persuaded, which is such a great pity.
@@carlstanley6383 THANK YOU sir! that's exactly the detailed confirmation I was looking for :) I wonder why the record label press-release didn't make this more clarified? something like "brand new remix by Tom Moultan, just recently completed, and done exclusively for this release!" or whatever :p
I was almost sorry to hear the vocals start.. that's how freakin'
AMAZING this mix is..!!! 🔥🌈
Tom needs a lifetime achievement Grammy award
NYC those days were the best.
I worked as a DJ in 1984 and played the then-remixed version of this song like crazy. If only the Moulton treatment had existed back then...!
Sick Mix needs to be released!!!
It's a Cool summer🌞

i realize I'm kind of randomly asking but do anybody know of a good place to stream new tv shows online ?
@Roland Colten Flixportal :P
@Braylon Emanuel thank you, I went there and it seems to work =) Appreciate it!
@Roland Colten Happy to help =)
Swain and Jolley are getting a lot of credit for the many interesting things interlocked in the arrangement and production.

Where can i find this mix? Strange about the additional lyrics info.
I noticed that too! I was like heyyyyyyy are these unused vocals? :o

@@DJMichaelAngelo You're most welcome, and I agree re crediting it as a brand new mix.
There is not one remix or version of this song I don't like. Endless possibilities.
