I never realised until I watched the film that there were so many steroids in WWII

You need to check out a propergander movie made about a ship my grandad was on during WW2 called "San Demitrio London" from 1943 an amazing true story ❤.

The trailer didn't grab me, but I decided to give the movie a chance when it came on stream, and though it was fun and the acting good, I found this movie a lost opportunity.
It's just a lesser, Inglorious Basterds and Dirty Dozen and just keeps running the myth of British commandos and other special forces in WW2 being recruited from prisons.
Not to mention, the whole claim of Ian Fleming basing James Bond off of Cavell's character is false from what I could find.
And the worst part of the film is when all the high ranking officers are begging Churchill to surrender in 1942. I think I got a headache from all the fadepalming I did.

Just watched it , wasn't impressed. Childish comic book characters killing hoards of cartoon Nazis ! It does no justice to the true story which would have made a far superior film . But what else could we expect from Guy Ritchie

Indeed, a real missed opportunity and a disservice to the men involved.
