- Good morning, friends! It's almost Easter, and while we emphasize singing Easter hymns, reading books about Jesus' death and resurrection, and talking about how much Jesus loves us, and what He did for us that we celebrate in this season, we also fill up Easter baskets for each of our five children. Whew, that was a long sentence! Today I'm sharing what we got this year for their baskets, and hopefully this gives you some ideas for simple, minimalist gifts that are special and thoughtful.

The “mature” squishmellow is perfect! It reminds me of when my little siblings were all into Webkinz, I was 15 and too embarrassed to admit I wanted one. My parents surprised me by taking my siblings out to buy me one. I loved it and even now my kids play with it 15 yrs later!
Oh boy, squishmallows! 🤣 I tried to resist those for a long time but finally caved this Christmas and got them for my 12 and 10 year olds. They absolutely love them. 😅 Great suggestions here as always! Modeling clay is a great idea. I personally try to include a new family game for each kid at Easter to help us do more game nights. 🥰

I have one kid that is so much harder to shop for than the others too! It’s hard to make things even. We do quite a bit of candy and consumables in Easter baskets, a clothing or summer item, and one thing they want. I added a cute library bag for each of them as we go a lot in the summer. I also did some special drinks like marble pop, bubble tea, etc to their baskets this year.
12 year old: crocs and jibbitz for her bigger item and her summer wear
11 year old: new switch controller and slides
6 year old: a plushie he really wanted and slides
3 year old: new summer shoes and some chalk and colouring stuff. I was hoping to find sand toys for his sand box but so far no luck.

Yes! You can find such good deals there on brand name items! 😊
We do not do an egg hunt with candy because it would melt. So we give a small basket of treats and 3-4 gifts. They are,ways get in addition crocs or pool shoes. They wear out and need to be replaced. Sometimes they get bathing suits goggles etc. they also get new shower loofas and bath soap. There is a,ways a chocolate bunny and other candies. This year they got the large kinder surprise egg from a friend who went to Germany. So they get a bonus small toy.

Hey Friend, Happy Monday. I enjoyed seeing what you put in your kids Easter baskets this year. ❤ I can’t believe Easter is in two weeks ( not this Sunday but next). 😮 I agree Easter is the prefect time to get items for summer activities. ❤🥰🦋🐰

I feel that the logical progression for family pictures is to have coordinated but not matching outfits. So, various shades of blue or green. Or the same shirt but different colors, maybe. Of course, the older they get, they tend to not want to sit still for pictures and look all coordinated
Yes, agreed! For our family pictures, we do the same…coordinating but not matching outfits. Easter is the one time each year where I get them matching outfits, and so far they still like it!
Easter is the one day per year that kids are okay with coordinating outfits. Oh and Mardi Gras

@@erins41I also think I should go ahead and make you mine. I think once he sees all the great stuff he will be extremely happy about it. Getting gifts has no age limit. Maybe he doesn't like to think of the whole typical Easter stuff including bunnies and baskets so maybe just put it in a regular bag or a regular basket but I'm sure he'd love it.
That’s sad. I bet he still wants one he just would like mature stuff in there. Not kids stuff
