I feel like most black ppl do have a distinct voice. Like most ppl think slang but it’s not that it’s like we have a certain twang to our voice. Even when most black moms put on this customer service voice (if ykyk) you can still kind of tell. This doesn’t apply to all but certainly to most.

2:00 It’s not a stereotype it’s an observation. Ppl have different accents and most of the time black ppl talk with African American vernacular. There are certain twangs, the cadence of your speech, the way you shape your mouth, and they way you blend certain words together. Sounding white is just talking with any of the general American English accents. We don’t have to pretend like we can’t guess what ethnicity/ culture somebody is based on how they talk
Well, I have personally been assumed to be white through my 'vernacular, even though I am not. Therefore, it isn't always the case due to someone's vernacular that, they're the preconceived notion of a certain ethnicity just cause they talk in a similar fashion to another group of people. Not saying that the accents and such doesn't paint picture of what kind of person your talking to, at the end of the day you never know.
