Did you know that in Columbia when kids become 10 years old they are allowed to have a coffee drink but it is 90% milk?
Every country has a strecthy area may it be a small area to a city
Chris, you are a prize. The best tourist I have seen in my 79 years of world travel. Very few people know how to go with the flow and that is what travel is all about. I moved to Ecuador 12 years ago from the U.S. and I live right next door to Colombia. You made a good choice. Every country in the World has areas of problems. Ecuador and Colombia have some of the nicest people in the whole World. Even in Rome you have to be aware of motorcyclists grabbing things off of you as they speed by, especially around the Vatican. And You never hear how unsafe the U.S. is, but it is just that. I can walk on the streets day or night in Ecuador. I am so glad you decided to go to Colombia. Come see Ecuador, especially the North Sierra. For a better World, it is important for people to see it for themselves, but also important to learn how to be safe while traveling. Learn how to turn fear into excitement.
Make your videos longer, the content is just awesome! You have only one life, the way you're living it showing something some of us may never experience is truly wholesome.
Chris, I have been following all of your videos, and as I get to know you a bit through your content, I now understand why I keep coming back for more: IMO your "personal brand" as a youtuber and a traveler is always so kind, gracious, and overall positive to your hosts and host country. And now, seeing you put your Spanish skills to the test in Colombia, I have even more respect. Good people, good content, always a pleasure! Keep it up and you will go far, and I'll be able to say I've been here since the beginning.
❤️🥹
It's fantastic that you're choosing to explore a place that steps outside your comfort zone! It reminds me of how I met this wonderful Colombian family in Antwerp. They've become some of my closest friends, and honestly, before I met them, I wouldn't have been able to find Colombia on a map!
As someone from Colombia I wanna say thank you for coming ! yes it can be unsafe but its still a beautiful country with a lot to give , love your videos
If you are already in South America, you should come to Brazil. Country is so big you could do an entire season here.
Brazil is so dangerous. Thankfully nothing happened to me because I was always on edge
Hi Chris: don’t be surprised that you are being used as an example. Especially in this era kids need to know they can do anything they put their mind to. Our world needs to step out of their comfort zone. Thanks for your willingness to step out and teach but also to show us things that we might not see on our own. In a s bar we get to go with you. You have provided that opportunity. Also while I have done and seen the thing you have accomplished and seen, I have come to realize through your vlogs that I have been fortunate and have done things and have seen things that have been fulfilling. I have been blessed. Continue the good work.
Thank you so much 🫶🏻

Leuke content man, lekker bezig! Je hebt er een nieuwe abbo bij. Mexico is absoluut een goede nieuwe locatie, ik ben er zelf ook geweest en alleen maar goede vibes! En heerlijk eten natuurlijk.
another amazing vid sitting here from the uk amazed just watching these and yea would love to do what your doing someday
I like the way you really try to interact with the local culture and the way you always give a try with the local food even if sounds strange at times
Well done lad 👌
Colombians don’t usually eat spicy food. And you should visit Medellin. You would love it!
👀⏳
Another great video, Chris. But…..I must say, the star was Sebastian….what a nice kid, and tour guide. A wonderful advertisement for Colombia…..well done.
I am so glad I found this channel. I have always wanted to travel and I absolutely love your content. If you ever want to come to an area of the USA that doesn't really get much attention, let me know and I can hook you up with some good spots and experiences in Mississippi! We aren't as bad as the media makes us out to be and its a fairly different experience here from the big cities in the US.
Hey Chris, we love your videos so much, they are amazing and inspiring. We appreciate your enthusiasm that shines through your videos, make sure to let us know if you ever happen to come to Budapest, Hungary, we would be pleased to be your host. Tot snel! ❤
Great content Chris! I live in newcastle, gutted I didn't get a chance to meet you. You had been an gone before if realised! Anyhow, yourself and other RUclipsrs have encouraged me an my daughter to travel. Amongst the odd country drop, we've planned our 3 #4country4daychallenge in May. For that, I thank you!
I’ll definitely come back to Newcastle!! Also, very happy to hear that you’re gonna travel more. Enjoy 🫶🏻
OMG I love this video, Sebastian and Farid are incredible people, and thanks for come to Bogotá

Every time you upload a new video I have to make a hard decision; Am I going to watch it now or will I keep it to have something to enjoy later?? LOL. I love them all. I was surprised that you weren't familiar with at least the names of Papaya and Pitahaya. I know papaya taste from juice and have eaten Pitahaya (dragon fruit) a few times, but only the pink ones!
You know it’s a good day when Chris uploads a new video
YAY, it's Sunday Funday with another great video. Thank You Chris for being a star entertainer, you've definitely earned a place in my top 5 RUclipsrs. Bloody love it
Yess!!! I’ll take that 🙏🏼
Great video Chris! Can see the improvement every video :)
14:39 That kid in the back 😂
Lol
lol
If I ever get to Columbia there is only one place I will have to go to no matter how long it will take. The rainbow River. Basically different types of alge turns the river red, green, pink, yellow and Orange
Great stuff Chris!
It is true... a lot of people try to make places, systems, people, etc. sound excessively worse than they actually are... while some parts of a place you may want to avoid, in many cases, that isn't true for most of the area.
Love your videos. How about travelling through the UK? And would love to see you in iceland and norway🎉❤😊
You should check out the video where he goes with the boat… 😏
Excellent thank you!!!!
Hello! I want to start by congratulating you on your amazing vlogs; they are truly fantastic and showcase the beauty and diversity of Colombia in a spectacular way. I love how you capture the essence of cities like Bogotá, Medellín, and Cartagena, showcasing their cultural, historical, and natural richness.Watching your videos has inspired me to invite you to Puerto Rico, a destination full of charm and wonders waiting to be discovered. As a local, I would be delighted to be your guide and show you the most special corners of our island. I hope you can consider this invitation, and we can collaborate on future projects together. Greetings from Puerto Rico!
Haha no way you went to Colombia. Just a few months ago i remember you saying there was no money for a ticket to Colombia. Keep growing. Gaat je goed💪🏻💪🏻
Great video Chris 👍
Keeping consistent, professional education in video making and caring relationships to more successful people in the same area is the key...
I visited colomibia last year, it was my first travel outside of europe. So I also had a lot of respect from the country, too, and faced some fears like you. It turned out, that the county is outside of Bogotá really beautiful and has also a lot of nice people, who are happy to meet someone from another country. I would definitly do it again, but i would avoid Bogota and stay more in the nature.
I 100% agree! Keep an eye out for the next videos 😉
The colombians I have met abroad are amazing people
My first trip to bogota and south america will be in 5 months
Good that you dont let the world scare you.
Stolen phones is a very common crime everywhere with guys on a bike or other pety theft. 2 guys tried to do it to me in casablanca, morocco, But i did hold my phone to thight. Pocket thiefs also are very common, guess Barcelona, spain is still the worlds centre for that. So yes petty crime can happen everywhere
Cheese and chocolate? There's this "Milka-Philadelphia" chocolate/cheese spread. Not my favorite, but not bad either.
The legend has uploaded what a day ❤
This channel is unreal 🎉 your inconsistency of views scares me 😮 I’m hoping to have a channel like this one day 🙌
i had a bad day today but when i saw you make a video i started to be happy keep it up
You should come to Buenos Aires, it´s very diferent here.
Chris you should totally go to Medellín, its amazing!!!
👀
Please put the information for how to contact these wonderful hosts. I would love for them to show me around too.
Loving the content man!
I was in Bogota this past December with my husband. We never felt unsafe. Actually we felt like the Columbian people were the nicest people we ever met during our travels and we have been a lot of places all over the world.
I highly recommend Peru! It's another country with great food and culture
go to EL SAVADOR now that is super safe!
My rule is that you can’t judge a place without seeing it first but it is fine to be wary but as long as it doesn’t stop you from checking it out yourself first. In fact trading wouldn’t have happened at all if someone went somewhere first.
bro u should use more sunscreen and moisturzier your skin looks a bit like it needs it my friend. love the vids.
Quite brave to go to Columbia regarding the situation in Haiti with a youtuber kidnapped there.
Subscribe to this guy, we need to make him more popular
Also, @ChrisTakesOff, did you get a new editor or changed your style? It's looks wayy better and the intro was nicee.
Another banger; W new intro too!
@christakesoff yeah Columbia is not used to spicy foods. Its very hard to find things that are spicy like in mexico. Also try and find lemonade. There is no lemons only limes. Spicy peppers arent popular
I think it was dangerous during Escobar period, now it's probably just as dangerous or safe as most countries..
No tourist get kidnapped and murdered on a weekly basis, it’s one of the most dangerous countries in the world.
He’s way to underrated!
I love this video
Still a newish channel
@@PJL7095 yeah but he already deserves a lot of attention and views!!
Patience!! We’ll get there 🫶🏻⏳
@@ChrisTakesOff yes you will Chris.
@@ChrisTakesOff YES WE WILL 🙈🙈👋
Nice video brah!
Hello,what a great traveling- 😲
Cgs on reaching 30k, i hope I was the one 😁
he deserves much more subscriber. 😢
Would love to see you go to Suriname while you're in South America since they speak Dutch!
Yeeeess Chris!! Come to Mexico City Man
Love over fear
Love all your videos from the very first but this one really speaks to me. I have never that all the Western media fear mongering and the general cluelessness of others determine where I go and what I experience. I’m Canadian and generally the xenophobia is not as bad here as the US, we are more open to travel & experiences. You are making the discovery I did in the 80’s, get to know people from a country personally and they will reward genuine interest with warmth and recommendations on how to find the true gems of a city or country. Many years ago in Toronto we met a great guy, Javier, from Mexico City. He was in Toronto to experience Canada and had been staying at a place near where our friend who was studying Spanish lived. He found it too full of other Mexicans and other South Americans and didn’t feel he was seeing the real Canada. We offered to take him to see our Toronto and he ended up staying with us for 5 months. We had a spare room and all parties enjoyed learning about each other’s cultures. My husband’s parents were Portuguese, he was born in Toronto but he looks more Spanish than Portuguese (most of his family have different features than he and his brother). It was very interesting to see Javier have an “opposite” reaction to many things, he loved how sunny Toronto was and that you could always see the sky (Mexico City was very different then).
He got sick from our water as his body was used to less “clean” water. He loved seeing the real city, enjoying our normal life and trying both Canadianized and real Mexican food. While he was staying with us our first trip to Mexico had already been booked, he house sat while we went to Acapulco for two weeks. Like anywhere both Toronto and Acapulco can have dangers, you just need to educate yourself, show authentic interest in & appreciation for where you are and you will have a great time. Javier’s family insisted we visit Mexico City so they could show appreciation for helping their son. Mexicans are some of the warmest most hospitable people on earth and no matter what their circumstances they want to welcome you and make your time enjoyable and a fiesta. They were wonderful people and had arranged great tickets to the National Folklore Ballet, tours of the best local spots, the Museum and several big family dinners at the best local restaurants (Mexicans LOVE Italian food and Italians have been coming there and opening authentic restaurants since the 1920’s). Javier’s best friend Enrique took us out and showed us the sights for two days, they were all respectful about asking what we wanted to see or experience while still making us feel appreciated for helping Javier in Canada (we got us much out of it as he did). Eventually Enrique also came to Toronto for several months and was enthralled by his first snow ❄. We met up with Javier & Enrique many times around Mexico and always had amazing times, we were all amused by the fact that locals and tourists always thought my husband was the Mexican (he tanned much darker than any locals).
We’ve taken many wonderful trips that people at home express fear over, even LA as we might accidentally end up in a “scary place”. We did our homework and experienced the best and the most authentic of everywhere we went. 95% of the time we enjoyed the local places we discovered through research more than the tourist spots and people were welcoming and friendly once they saw our interest in and appreciation for local life. We have found that if you are sincere and interested people the world over will welcome you just as they will close off to the “do everything like it is back home” type. Be courteous, open minded, honest and respectful and may unexpected and amazing experiences await you. Do your homework about actual problems, not media hype and listen to your intuition and you will be fine. Over 30 years of travel and the only bad experiences were in tourist traps (never fall for the freebies attached to time share tours it’s never worth it).
Chris keep showing people the world is not as scary as they have been told, there is beauty everywhere, locals are the best guides and humble honesty the best mindset. If you are ever in Vancouver, BC we’d love to show you all its wonders or in Cabo San Lucas, our second home.
This story just put a massive smile on my face! Thank you so much for that 🫶🏻
