nothing like spending months welding, blocking, blocking, and blocking and then to hear everybody compliment the painter when we all get the first glimpse in the booth. Someone owes me lunch!
thanks for the great videos. there is a wealth of knowledge for a non expert like me with a desire to learn. It takes time to make these and i appreciate that.
I'd really like to know what you learned during that experience, looking to start my 1970 camaro and I'm trying to get as much input on what to look for and do!
What was the first product you used over the bare metal, black epoxy? You used the polyester primer after the filler work, I have G2 primer I was gonna use as a first primer. Then after you finish with that step do you reprime with the polyester or was that a different primer? So it was then reprimed plus a sealer coat? What was it you used for that? I've only ever used PPG products at my work, but doing my own car I want to know exactly what I need to use so there is no "fail" down the road.
Crazy how that final paint is so damn good this car like you said is so difficult to photograph indoors with a unatural whatever bulb lighting blazing down & around it, l notice this long ago in those used car Rags , all you see is the frigging lighting reflection in the one static photo.l even noticed this total oversight in those socalled high end upper crust used car Curber's in the du-pont Registry believe it or not & they think there high end ? yah right save for there Total dumb lighting and or photographer.
Looks like alot of hr witch means alot of dollars just on getting ready for paint then big bucks for paint I bet close to 30 to 35 thousand dollars on that alone
REAL, NOT REALITY ? l read that one liner on your shop wall tarp sign & isn't that saying one in the same ? unless your qouting those dumb reality shows like socalled survivor & the rest of the crap reality Staged garbage.
Yeah, when we coined that phrase 13 years ago reality shows were all the rage. Our mission is to build cool cars without all the false drama, hence the phrase. Thanks for watching!
Nathan is a master. Best paint job ive seen.
That paint scheme looks alot better then i would have thought when u first said black burgundy and silver divider.
Stunning final product! You guys sure know how to finish a car. This is perfection achieved. Excellent work guys!

There are generally 3-4 coats on the car, with extras sprayed over the stripe areas to have enough to sand down so you do not feel the stripes.

Very Good Video, there was a lot of good info in part 1&2
"It takes some time, some dedication and attention to detail." Not to mention, it takes Nathan! Have I made it clear that I think Nathan is a genius?
I would have liked to know what was done to the body for undercarriage protection, seam sealer ect.
thanks for the video
Good video...
I blocked a whole nova this summer and I have to say, I've learned a lot and messed up a lot. But it was worth it in the end!

In this case, it was the painter who did all the metalwork, blocking, and painting..

just dam cherry
The paint job itself is really nice but the scheme sucks. The owner should have not used that 1990's silver check mark stripe.
As cores que não combinaram
excellent prep work and paint, but the owners scheme is a bad decision, but it's his car.

Still that phrase Confuses the hell out of me, Real not fake or made in China would be more Accurate wouldn't it be ?
It just refers to our shop being a real shop, not one based on a reality TV show premise.
Wow It's a Socalled Real Shop ? Could have fooled me, l thought l was on Mar's planet Newly opended 🍕isneyland.
How much Aud would it cost to repaint a 1977 camaro a different colour?
