Had a similar issue with the PS2 I recently bought from someone which was surprisingly almost brand new, just that grind noise was worse I cleaned the laser lens with a cotton swab and isopropyl don't over soak cause you can ruin it. It worked for me so I'm assuming the lens was dirty or the previous owner touched it
@@pacthesir Did you replace the laser assembly in the 79001 PS2? Hopefully you did they're the most reliable slim models that'll never scratch your games, compared to the other slim model PS2 systems.
I have the same noise too and I have the same model number too. But the game working perfectly fine. This also happens while playing dvd and movies.
