    Sorry, what is 'ask' call and 'bid' call? Does it mean sell call and buy call?

    Awesome vid. That's what I've been looking for. Could you elaborate on Volume and Open Int? I need more details on that.

    Hi! Great video first of all. Could you elaborate on what do you mean by opening trade activity? I’m still struggling to understand that point

    • @UnusualWhales
      @UnusualWhales  Год назад

      there are 4 ways to trade an option:
      buy to open
      sell to open
      buy to close
      sell to close
      "to open" type trades are the ones that we want to find: our goal is to see 'smart money' opening (or starting) their positions

    newbie question, why is a block order less appealing? wouldnt that indicate a big buyer present?

    • @UnusualWhales
      @UnusualWhales  Год назад

      block orders can have a prenegotiated price, which means trying to figure out if it's a buy/sell based on the tape might not be very effective

    Probably dumb question. but how do you recognize whether the option was bought or sold based on the options flow details?

    • @UnusualWhales
      @UnusualWhales  Год назад

      not a dumb question at all. unfortunately you cannot tell for certain whether something was bought or sold. as demonstrated in the video we can attempt to use data points such as a rapidly increasing IV, along with an increase in the spot price of the option with transactions occurring at the ask to potentially lean 'buy' on something.
