Unfortunately, you forgot a VERY important aspect: EXPOSITION, (aka "Character building)! You first need to establish an emotional connection between your audience and your characters. If your viewers can't identify with your protagonist and/or antagonist in at least some minor way, then they won't care what happens to them. Good OR bad! To do this doesn't actually need to take a long time. If done right, it can actually be accomplished in a mere few seconds. BUT, no matter how long or short a period it takes to do this, it MUST be present.
