Basic Rules. This needs clarification... what is the aim of this? to reduce the risk of electrocution or to stop interference with the operation of the electronic circuit whilst its active and or simply to protect oneself from possible dangerous voltage still present within a de energized circuit? surely one wouldn't be holding on to a grounded bench if the equipment was energized at the risk of getting across the mains voltage and earth, and or any other hi voltage referenced to earth and or is this assuming an isolation transformer is used ? Technically there isn't a difference between the chassis and or the cabinet the equipment is in as they are both likely to be at the same earth potential.? And or is this with reference to ant static precautions?
