The 2021 foam insert probably was just a quick workaround. The first ones came with a super weak paper insert (not a strong cardboard inlay like the 2023). It was about the same strength/thickness as the putside of the box. It was probably OK for the Classic, but the bigger knives of the set had serious damage on the inside while shipping, so the paper iserts looked super ugly.
@@MySAKcollection They had a foam inlay for the first yearly limited edition set in 2015. That one felt like the best quality. Then they already switched to the plastic "tray" design in 2016. (The 2015 set also had a different color box, it was black instead of the gray they use since 2016.)
I wish Victorinox would step up there limited edition models from the Classic SD to the Rambler like they did with the Pioneer to Pioneer X. I much prefer the Rambler and since there are a multitude of Alox Classics, adding the combo tool to there yearly special runs would actually make them special.
An Alox Rambler would be great. However, I'm not a fan of changing the yearly LE lineup. I hate that they removed the Cadet and the Pioneer. They could have added the new models, without disappointing collectors of the Cadet...
@@miklospinter Ok I agree on the Cadet model, it should have been continued as for the Pioneer and Classic I can’t see them making both. Pioneer X and Rambler have much more capability which to me is what SAK’s are all about. This in turn in my opinion should be reflected in the limited versions they produce. Actually I wish they would make all the Alox models in a few more colors without having to chase limited versions, like red, blue, green, and black
@@hitchpost5822 I don't think they would ever do a Pioneer and an X or a Classic and a Rambler... But since they already have the scales, they could. Maybe a lot of collectors would pick up both, the others would have a choice.
@@miklospinter Victorinox is very fickle, take for example the Off-White™with all the requests they get for new models and to bring back older models, they offer that monstrosity. People love the electrician’s blade but do they offer it on any other models, that’s just one example there are so many combinations that would sell like hot cakes if only they would make them.Of course in spite of there crazy marketing I still buy there products.

1. This video was made in 2023
2. I haven’t yet procured the 2024 brown Alox
3. Stay tuned and thanks for the support !
Afaik the rivets are nickel silver, not brass.
Oh thank you for correcting me, I really appreciate this and will not make this mistake again.
