  • This week we’ve been tanking the retaining walls, putting a land drain down the back, and backfilling behind them.
    Nice to also see some paving being laid too 👌

    Hi MAtt i love your attension to detail and organisation ive noticed on some porcelain projects you'll use a screed mix and on others you'll use a wet mix i tend to use a wet mix for car traffic as there's no air to compress would you agree and use screed for foot traffic amazing work from all your lads keep strong mate as i know how hard this work is as I've been in it for 40 plus yrs thanks Matt ❤

    • @Brockstonepavingpros
      @Brockstonepavingpros  3 месяца назад +1

      Hello Brian, appreciate the kind words
      So it’s the same mix as wet, a 5/1 just obviously a tad less water and no plasticiser. I do both wet and semi dry, I don’t believe there is a right and wrong way of doing it, as long as it’s laid well and not on spots.
      Prefer a semi dry mix in the winter to stop them floating 👍🏼

    So good to see a tradesman taking such immense pride not only in his work, but that of his team as well.
    Great to also see great content from the UK, so few good trades showing their capability on RUclips.
    As for your lad, I hope he does realise it? But everything he learns from you now, he'll remember forever, he has youthful confidence, and with your instructions, he can only go on to greater thing's...... which I'm sure is continuing your good name!
    Great content, great editing, and great camaraderie with you all.
    I hope your business flourishes, anyone prepared to show their work on RUclips will never be short of work, the customer knows what they're paying for before you even do your quote.
    Keep the content coming!

    Hey Brockstone Landscape,
    Hiii! We've been avid followers of your inspiring videos for quite some time now, and we're constantly amazed by the fantastic work you do.
    We have a question for you. We're planning to replace our patio tiles, and like you, we want to lay them on a concrete bed. What would be your advice for this? Should we use sand/cement? If so, what are the recommended ratios? We're really curious to hear your thoughts on this.
    Warm regards,

      We lay on a type 1 base 100mm deep, then 30-40mm of 5/1 grit sand cement with a priming slurry on the rear

      It’s easier on the wrist especially when using the float. You need a deeper bed so you have something to knock into
