He bends girders but some people also don't realize the word "bender" is an actual reference to alcoholism. The writers were clever.

In fact, I'm surprised the page isn't just a reference to Bender in the first place.
It is also a reference to a character from Animal House he was based on.
He’s not an alcoholic, his internal combustion system is just really inefficient and power hungry, thus an increased fuel consumption.

I think the show ended on a good note. It had its days and it spent them well. I don't believe another season is really needed.

I still remember taking the bus one time when I was younger and this woman sitting next to me had a sketchbook and she had perfectly drawn Bender, like a total pro, and it pretty much inspired me to take up drawing because I wanted to have that ability to perfectly draw Bender.
