I just made two of these yesterday for gifts, using someone else's tutorial. I like your smaller size, more detailed description, and easier to follow instructions. I might just make new ones for my gifts because your additional tips resulted in a more professional looking item.
I love this patter. A few things to help out, I have been putting the cardboard in prior to making the first seam for it. That way I don't bend it and I can manipulate it better. Second, I've been using some bias tape instead of ribbon. I had some scrap bias tape and no ribbon. It works! Thank you so much for the pattern and idea!
Thank you. This is a really good and simpel instruction for a amazing item. I would also use it for book, so I was slightly worried that it wouldn't work very well, but it dit. For anyone who want this for books. Stuff the small part really well. Mine even holds the pages open thanks to the stuffing!
Love the way these go together, especially like the hint about inserting the cardboard before the 3 inch stitching! I get frustrated using a typical funnel so I used a toilet paper roll cut in half and then cut lengthwise and rolled and put in the opening, fits tight and fills quickly with little mess! Plan to make several of these for the grand kids and others!
great video and kudos for using the ladder stitch! I've watched several videos for the phone stand and they've all used a whip stitch which looks awful.. good job !!
I watched several videos and this I found easiest and liked how it turned out. Not counting time used for stuffing, you can put it together from start in an hour and it looks nice and neat. Thank you!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for showing how to make this wonderful little stand!! I cut out a firm piece of plastic for the base and it worked out great! THANKS AGAIN!! :)
Great tutorial. My sewing skills are in demand by the great nephews and nieces. I just let them pick the fabric. Thank you this is a really cute idea and you made it easy. I did use Richard's tip about the cardboard.
I really enjoyed your video. It explained to me in detail how to make the tablet stand. Most videos only have music or they don’t explain how to make it. thank you for those of us who need more detail.
Love this!!! Ive been making a few, gonna make more for Christmas gifts. I was told that "you can't back stitch with a walking foot on", obviously that's not true. Now I wish I'd bought the walking foot when it was on sale at Joann's 😢😢😢
Thanks for a great tutorial! I wanted to make mine completely washable as I will be using it mainly in the kitchen. Instead of the cardboard I used a double layer of peltex (heavy interfacing) and I used the Poly Beads (plastic) instead of rice. Thanks to Richard Worrall suggestion for putting in the cardboard before sewing!
Hi, I made this for my grandchildren and they loved them, i loved that fabric you used in the tutorial what is the print called, brilliant easy to follow tutorial thank you keep them coming. Maggie UK
I watched the video before making and noted your comment re rice mixing with polyester filling. When I made mine I put a plastic bad in first and filled that, then tied the top off, just make sure the bad is big enough so rice can move all over the base. I then tucked the ends of the bag into the opening and added the polyester. Problem solved, just make sure it is not a biodegradeable bag.
Great idea. Good directions. This is another one of your super ideas and I'll be sure to make it. Thank you so much for the great ideas and good directions.
