    George, this is about as perfect as you can get it. I usually use a gradient but this is far more precise and does the best job on hair yet to date. I will be use this as my number one go to in the future. Gets rid of color abnoration, ghosting and other nasty side issues. Thanks for the huge tip!

      You're welcome Rich, you can also use this same technique with portraits that don't have a white background. What you get is a colorized version of the existing background which can be quite fun.

    In Elements 13: I need to change the background in two large windows that are next to each other. There are a few people in the foreground that need to remain in the photo with the windows behind them and the rest of the room remaining the same. Just the image in the 2 windows needs to change from a hazy/foggy day to a nicer background.
    Would you have a video on doing something like this (or similar) as it seems a little more involved.
    Thanks as always George.

      Shame the end wasn't explained about what you do with the layers at the end and how you save it.

      Hi Donna, to duplicate items you simply duplicate the layer. Right click on the layer name and choose Duplicate Layer

    My Photoshop elements 2019 doesn’t look like this? Mine has every option grayed out underneath the Layer option! What do I do?

    • @HTGGeorge
      @HTGGeorge  3 года назад +1

      If options are grayed out it means that those options aren't available at the moment. The main reason layers options would be grayed out is that you don't have any layer content selected

      @@HTGGeorge I wish there were someway I could send a photo to you of what I see. I got it over a year ago, and I’ve never used it, and I really don’t want to know how to do anything but change the background color. I figured I would be able to follow a step-by-step tutorial to do that, but I cannot even get my options to show what I think I need

      First open a picture, use File/Open. Then if you aren't seeing the layers on the right side go up to the Window menu and click Layers. I always like to make a backup layer when changing things, so in the Layers panel on the right side right click on the name of the background layer (it will say background) and choose Duplicate from the popup menu. How click on that layer to select it. Now you will see the Layers options available

      @@HTGGeorge I actually just did REMOTE SUPPORT with Adobe Photoshop!! I’ve got my options back now, now I just want to learn how to change backgrounds to solid white or gray. I’ve got it open now, and when I outline my item, I have just the line now- it turns EVERYTHING ELSE BLACK😩

      @@V1124az If you are talking about the Refine Edge tool, in the top View section click the arrow next to View and set that to Overlay.
