This was so inspiring that I went to the gym. I used what strength I still had left in my hands to tear out my pectorals, deltoids, biceps, and triceps. It was definitely very painful but as I lay here and wait for the new muscle to grow into the tattered skin and bone that is there now, I know that the mental strength it took for me to do it will all be worth it.
That was 17 months ago and the only change is the rancid smell enveloping me. I’m guessing muscle takes longer than beaks and claws to grow. But I will be patient and wait. Excellence doesn’t form overnight.
Actually eagles don’t rebirth so they don’t pluck out off all of their feathers and brake their beak and talons but they preen their feathers and clean their talons and beak.
That's how I've been feeling lately now that I'm 40. Shed the old habits and let go of bad memories.

I would think National Geographics is a genuine outlet. But....
It's 100% not true... not any part of it. It's laughable that so many people believe this fable.
1) A raptor's beak stays fully usable is whole life without intervention.. they maintain the length through normal eating and scraping the beak to clean it off (on things like rocks)
2) Eagle talons can't get soft under normal conditions. They are made of keratin (similar to human fingernails)
3) The time it would take to "regrow" an entire beak and talons would be more than enough time to starve a bird to death
4) A bird continuously molts and regrows all of its feathers throughout its whole life. Not all at once, which is super ridiculous to think about

This is just completly false, first of all eagles normally lives 20-30 years in the wilderness, there has been some rare occasions, where they lived to the age of 50 in captivity.
Second of all, they don’t pluck out all their feathers, they get a new feather coat every year, which happens naturally, and isn’t painful in any way.
And third of all they don’t break their beak, their beak is essentially a part of their skull, it would correspond to you ripping of your own jaw.

This is an allegory. Just FYI. The Eagle does NOT Actually go thorough these exact changes. It’s feathers naturally fall off and regrow every year, it’s beak is a part of its face and talons do not get ripped off. Also, it is not painful when it loses its feathers. It’s part of the natural process. The key here is to take away that we can submit to the process of the Holy Spirits transforming us into the image of Jesus. A good saying that a pastor friend of mine always says is you will not change until the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain of change.
