I recently switched to Fabric from forge, and I must say, I'm pleased at the simplicity of the loader as opposed to Forge, which is over-complicated. I have decided to go Fabric full-time.
@@alchemy5750 unfortunately you can get that in forge as well now. Modders are porting Fabric mods to Forge more than the other way around, though i hope that trend changes. @@jgcperoni08 I think it's less about one being better than the other, and more about both excelling in different areas. Forge is older, with much more support and, importantly, documentation. Fabric runs smoother performance-wise, is much more lightweight, and is easier to maintain between versions, but has flaws as it's quite new. Lack of years of modding experience and documentation, and sometimes errors due to conflicting mods not getting along which forge would simply override using one or the other. With time, I do hope Fabric becomes a go-to, mainly on the part of modders because one version of a mod can often work between multiple different fabric versions, given the way fabric implements modifications.
I did one recently for Forge that has 50 mods! You can find it on my channel, it's my longest video yet 😅. My latest RPG & Survival videos are also for Forge :)
The best mods that actually made me migrate from forge to fabric are Sodium, Lithium, Phosphor and lambdynamiclights, which turned my minecraft experience from 30 fps to 240 fps. There are also mods that port lots of optifine features to be compatible with them. Worth checking out.
I was so conflicted on getting fabric, I'd have to leave some good stuff behind, but the amount of dream mods locked behind fabric just made things harder, so i switched. And boy, was it worth it...
