Have you ever tried to hold a sheep? It's like wrestling a 100 pound toddler that kicks and bites. The sheep are not easy to catch and harder to deal with. So they shear them as fast as they can to put less stress on the sheep. If you can find an easier way the world would be grateful.
@@Bemmy1111 Nothing and no one is perfect. This is going to happen but it is not traumatic or dangerous enough to warrant the reaction. Animals do worse to each on a daily basis. If you are expecting perfection you have lost track of real life.
Lanolin is also a product from the wool being washed. Lanolin is the sheep’s skin oils. Often in these big operations the sheep is sheared so fast it’s cut and bleeding. Long ago a sheep farmer could only sheer 4 a day and his wife or hired help wash the wool and squeeze the wool through a fine screen or cloth to save the lanolin. I have done all these steps. Have also done sheep butchering and wool rug hide tanning sheepskins.
Well done to you. Do you think back and wonder how people got to thinking it would make some good clothes for themselves? First they even had to breed sheep for wool!!
Since it was a living fiber, why it encased in a plastic bag? As a quiltmaker, I was taught to not store cotton or wool products in plastic, bags or bins. Placing them in a pillowcase or between flat sheets is best next to acid-free paper. Lotsa hard work by these plant workers faced with respiratory issues & caution.
I presume there are millions of sheeps in the fields/farms which provide us thousands of bales of natural wool. A material which is most body friendly comparing Acrylic which is an artificial wool. All praises for Allah the great.

Just helped a local sheep farmer out today as they were shearing his young sheep.. It’s hard work I tell you.. Those farmers deserve a lot more than they get I tell you.. Without the farmers in the first place no wool
I this is very far from modern technology we have been given by God and human intellectually. 🙏 🤲 however, thanks to the hard labour of both people and animals, u all have been through a lot. Good health to all.😀
Except for the shearing, the processing looks like the textile mills I worked in, making sheets, pillowcases, towels and all other kinds of house goods.
I pride myself on being able to do a lot of thing especially if society breaks down but I don’t think I could do this. I might be able to cut a pelt but not this. Amazing work.

Oh the things I could knit out of all that beautiful wool!!. amazing!!!
Just imagine; back in the day people had to do all this by hand. Holy geez.
This woman does it by hand ruclips.net/video/UvmC-leoj9U/видео.html
Still being done by hand from start to finish. Check RUclips for shearing, washing, carding , spinning
One sheep at a time, one fleece by hand , you could do it
It was a family affair

I love sheeps. I've been watching shearing videos and they're always so calm and still when they're being sheared.
OK
Why are they so still, I’ve seen sheep sheared also and they always just go limp during the process.
@@sammylove14 they're probably like 'hey this is pretty... calming'. like haircuts, when they touch your hair all over mmm
Wow, very interesting to watch. I’ve always been curious about the process of wool making, from the sheep’s body to the finished product.
Same here, but what country are they doing that in, I live in Australia.
@@Rachel17 I’m not sure about the country, but it seems to be in a Spanish speaking nation.

Oops wrong grammer, I meant a sheep not an an sheep
@@Rachel17 Chile
I think you can determine the skills of a the shearer not by the time but by the lack of cuts and bleeding of the sheep
True, but sometimes if the sheep hasn't been sheered in a long time, the wool will pull the skin up and make it uneven and easy to nick.
It's time, and also quality of the fleece. The softer the fiber the more wrinkly and soft the skin of the sheep. It's no easy thing
They have all the lanolin on the skin as natural antiseptics and heal quickly
Yes yes that's what I was thinking i think many have hurt the pain feeling sheeps😭
WOW,, SHEEP HELP A LOT IN TEXTILE INDUSTRIES
I have a 100% wool king blanket my aunt gave me from Greece for my wedding.
