Does that right surf break have a name? i surfed it many years ago, I know the left round the corner is called dutchmans, but not the name of this one.
Thanks to this video we went in search of this beach and on Saturday we had our picnic lunch there looking at the ocean, it was so beautiful. I was wondering if you could please tell me how the weasel road got it's name and just what is Packies Hole???
Hi Allyson, glad you liked it. It is a lovely place to forget about the world and clear the mind. As far as i know it got its name back in the 1950's when there were a large family of weasels around the area always seen on or around the lane down to the sea. As for Packie's Hole, i am not sure if you know where it is, i never got around to doing a video (but there is a road at the bottom of Ballykilcash Hill that takes you down to the sea where the Dunneill river (after it joins the Dunbekin river)meets the sea. At the mouth of the river used to live 2 brothers, one of which was called Packie Connor. Just before it joins the sea, there is a large pool area, quiet deep and it is this actual large pool that became known as Packie's Hole. You can see part of it around the 3 minute 7 second mark.
Great video thanks for sharing
This was great. It looked like an old ruin and some sheep in the distance. Thank you for posting these videos.
The gentle destructive power of the ocean, great music choice. Excellent videos

Sorry krusher74, i do not know. We call the rocky outcrop 'The Long Rock' and is a great place to fish but only when the tide is fully out.

Thank you so much, I actually stood right there at the pool, what a wonderful place to live, I was blown away by the Sligo coastline.
