@@GeekaWhatso everyone talks about the new 50’s not a good upgrade but is a 5080 a good option for someone building a new pc for the first time? I’m probably kidding myself trying to get one anyway with how hard it will be
@@AFGixxeR88I don't think it's such a large improvement that you should bend over backwards for the 5080. If you're able to get one, great! But if not a good deal on a 4080 Super or 7900XTX will also serve you really well. So yeah if you're looking to build a new pc or upgrade an old one, see if you get lucky but otherwise one of the alternatives will be just fine
I just got mine today an cant wait to build! Pairing it with the 9800x3d also! Im upgrading from a 1650 so while i get people have issues with the 5080, for me itll be like going from a trike to a harley 🎉
Looking to build my first pc and wanted a ryzen 7 7800x3d / 9800x3d (can’t decide which one yet) 4080 super the question is should I up my budget and try and get my hands on the 5080 or 5090 or keep the build I want or lower my budget for a first time PC
7800X3d vs 9800X3d ( 9000s is +10-15% in games and has a little lower temps) go for the cheapest if you don't game at 240+ fps. RTX 5080 vs RTX 4080Super vs RTX 4070TiSuper (if you have a 4k monitor go for 4080S or 5080 don't pay more than 10-20% for 5080 vs 4080S. If you game at 1440p go for the TiSuper , it has enough VRAM and it's only 30-35% slower than 5080 at probably 800-900$ depending on region. In EU is more like 950 Euro. 5090 for first time builder is just not a good ideea. 5090 is for people that either want max perf or don't want to upgrade for 4-5 years
@ Thank you! I’m looking to game that’s it so I’ve been researching build for the best gaming experience and I really don’t see a point for my personal preference to game at 4k!
Guys I’m new to PC, I literally just finished building my pc Monday(still don’t even have Windows installed). Is this a good card or not? Because everyone seems to be complaining about it even though it seems to me like it’s a slight improvement on the card for the same price. Isn’t that a good thing?
For a first time build its a great card if you have the budget for it, people are upset because nvidia promised rasterization (non - dlss actually rendered frame) would be slighty better than the 4090, for the price i think 20gb of vram would be nice but it is nvidia so...
Thanks for the review, 4080S seems like the winner for me to build a new PC. the Australasia markup kills this for the % gain above the super. 4080 is getting DLSS 4.0 eventually wont it.
Fair point! I think if the 5080 is the same price as the 4080 SUPER (which I appreciate won't be the case in all regions) then it's a good buy. Just depends on how the AIC's price their non MSRP boards! :)
depends on the stock and your budget, the 7900xtx is a couple hundred bucks cheaper for a couple procent loss, where the 5080 is more expensive and has Nvidia exclusive features and performs a bit better.
Can we all agree not to lie about the latency that dlss4 frame gen causes 😑 it's almost 50ms and content creators are saying it's barely noticeable ffs
It’s literally $600 cheaper. Everyone mad that the 5080 is closer to the 5090 in performance and vram. But the price reflects this. If you want something in the middle get a 4090, they aren’t outdated
@@bradobrien739its disappointing because nvidia promised 4090 performance for the 5070, and if the 5080 is worse than that means the 5070 will be nowhere near the 4090
Has anybody gotten 128GB of RAM to work at 6400MT/s with a 9800X3D yet? Right now I can only get it to work at a crappy 6000MT/s as that is an absolute waste for the 9800X3D.
Idk if im sure but i saw something that is holding back the 5080 and that is the power consumption.... its actually pulling the same watts as a 4080 super....im wondering how much more could it give if it fully utilize the 370 watts but for now im still disappointed
Without frame gen it’s absolutely fkin trash. I even think their refresh super cards will be garbage. Perhaps 60 series is the next one to go for. Such a shame. This frame gen dlss4 doesn’t seem amazing.
Hey everybody, I’m trying to build a budget 1080p pc for my brother as a gift for under $800 pretax. Any recommendations? Here’s what I’ve got: 1. Monitor: KTC 24.5 Inch 100Hz IPS 2. Power Supply: CORSAIR RM650 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular 8. Case: Lian Li A3-mATX + 3 DARKROCK case fans
Benchmarks start at 2:00... just don't take a shot every time I say 'upside' 🤣
Amazed that it's not way better in RT than 4080, you'd think that was a no brainer
1. Production of 4080/Super ended.
2. The 5080 FE is cheaper than
4080/4090 online.
Which would you purchase if it was the same price as 5080?
Absolutely garbage “improvements”
16GB of Vram in 2025 for 1k just seems steep should be getting at least 20GB for the price IMO.

yeah, it's annoying - don't want to shell out on the 5090 because of the price but the vram is making me think otherwise
huh, i was pretty excited for the 5080, but with my main game being cod....think ill be waiting to see what amd comes out with in a couple months
Not a terrible idea!
10fps increase is madness
Was mind blown when i saw that thr 7900 xtx has more rasterizarion performance like what
Not in most of our tests, but there are one or two instances where this is the case yes :)
