    Wow! The Rainbow Ammonites are stunning! I can't wait to see them when they've been prepared 🤩🐚🦕✨

    Wow! It’s so bright!!! And I have never seen iridescent suture patterns before!!! They usually get destroyed in the process of calcite permineralisation.

    I have two rings set with pieces of iridescent ammonite like that. One is primarily beetle-green, and the other a sort of amber-yellow. People always find them mystifying, not knowing what they are.

      That’s cool. The colours are produced by a rare form of fossilisation producing ammolite, an ultra rare organic crystal made from the shells of ammonites. It’s literally an animal turned into a gem!

    I have a question regardingThe iridescent ammonites, aren't those shells made into jewelry or something like that and worth a lot of money? Just a question for clarification and understanding Thank you.

    Stop lying, it’s not 180 million yrs old. It’s about 178 million. Don’t add the extra 2 million to make it sound super old!

    • @DreadEnder
      @DreadEnder Месяц назад

      Haha actually it’s the other direction, about 184 million years old.

      Stop being so pedantic, nobody can accurately say the date, so your expected 2 million years of difference doesn't mean a thing!
