This is very well edited! The jubilant scenes of him waving in the car are especially powerful with the soaring vocals in the background, and contrasted with his state in the rest of the video!
Yes he was. That is why I had such a crush on Capt. Kirk from the original series. I remember this episode. They showed these Outer Limit episodes in the 1970s. Great post.
He really had a great knack for it. Some of his best work was in the earlier part of his career, in shows like Thriller and The Twilight Zone where he played this type of character. He was really good at portraying very fragile, vulnerable, frightened, sensitive, highly emotional and timid characters. He was also a very beautiful man...smoldering handsome and boyishly cute at the same time. Wish he had been in more episodes of Thriller and other shows like it, the black and white cinematography, the suspense and the ambiance of those types of shows, as well as the roles he was given in them, all suited him really well. I enjoy watching his earlier roles and seeing what a serious actor he was and what a refined personality, before he became the big goofball he did as he got older. It seems like most people don't take him seriously as an actor because they are so used to his joking/parody type stuff that he's been doing for the past 30-40 years and haven't seen his work before he got immensely famous and stopped taking himself seriously.
You've really got talent for this. Would like to think The Shat himself has seen your lovely, fun, stylish, and spirited handiwork. A distinctly refreshing, intelligent, sophisticated cut above most fan-tribute videos (of any screen star). Your vids are a real compliment to Shatner's early, diverse work and talent. Not to mention them being delightful reminders of what a singularly "commanding" heart-stopper he truly was in those days. Boy, oh, boy! Reminds me of a sweet-sexy line from David Lynch's "Wild at Heart" film, said by Laura Dern's character to Nicolas Cage's: "You've got me hotter than Georgia asphalt!" [Subbed!]
After seeing this, I re-watched the "Cold Hands, Warm Heart" episode that you feature in your video here. I last saw the episode many years ago, so it was nice to see it again. But quickly apparent was that your video is FAR BETTER than the original episode! Your condensed, smartly edited version is far more affecting. And, as others have said, your choice of music is indeed perfect accompaniment for what you've done here. Impressive!

William Shatner plays the tortured soul very well. Heart wrenching. Poor guy.

He had a lot more fun on Bezo's Blue Origin last year. ( A space flight in reality when he was age 90 in Oct 2021)
I've got three words...
