      Yes, an NRI can claim deductions on the interest paid for a housing loan in India, whether the property is self-occupied or let out, by filing ITR-2.

      It depends on the residential status. If you are an NRI, then you should file ITR-2

    If NRI returns to India in July and become Resident tgen which ITR form he has to fill and should he get exemption on the NRI FD income which he earned in first 3 months (April to Jun) as he was NRI during this period and should he consider only 9 months interest on FD as income?

    • @AKTAssociatesOfficial
      @AKTAssociatesOfficial  2 месяца назад

      In this case, he should file ITR-2 and will be taxed on the entire year's FD interest, with no exemption for the first 3 months.

    What about NRE Deposits which are totally Tax free and fully repatriable. Still the deposits are shown in AIS report. Please advise

    • @AKTAssociatesOfficial
      @AKTAssociatesOfficial  2 месяца назад

      You have to file an ITR to avoid future notices. Deposits are not considered taxable, but provide feedback on the AIS and TIS portals.

    Credit Card payment of Rs 1 lakh - is it cumulative annual or cumulative monthly or one single payment?

    • @AKTAssociatesOfficial
      @AKTAssociatesOfficial  2 месяца назад +1

      The Rs 1 lakh limit for credit card payments is a cumulative annual limit. Multiple payments throughout the year should not exceed Rs 1 lakh to qualify for deductions under Section 80G (donations) or Section 80D (health insurance premiums). This is not a monthly limit, so ensure the total annual payments do not exceed Rs 1 lakh. Always check specific provisions for your situation.
      and don't forget to file ITR.
