The tune playing on the Wurlitzer 153 Band Organ is “The Triumphant Banner” but I don’t know the roll, there are maybe 4 or 5 rolls Kennywood has this song and they sound exactly the same. Also, this is before the 2005 restoration of both carousel and band organ. The organ definitely sounds a lot better here compared to what it sounds now. Unfortunately, Tony Sacramento passed away I believe in 2014 or 2016. R.I.P.
@GarlandTexasSpotter2024 Yep Triumphant banner played on the last ride of the season of 2024 which suprised me when I watched the live stream on Facebook. Also it's interesting seeing the original paint colors before the whole carousel was repainted. And I believe the original control was a leaver system. Because that's still by the current controls. Been to kennywood a few times when I was younger.
@@JustinCampbell-w5lI saw the facebook livestream. It looked like the band organ is having tracking issues but that could be by the very cold weather. Pennsylvania has a lot of snow and freezing temperatures compared to last year. Interesting they didn’t play the Christmas roll as they would end the season by okaying “winter winter wonderland” and “Petersburg sleigh ride” like they did 3 years ago (2022), when the band organ was working.
@@JustinCampbell-w5lHopefully in 2026, when the carousel turns 100, they could give it a full restoration and repaint. Although they would need to not use the band organ as restoring a band organ could take months and lots parts. Hershey park did that when thier organ restored in 2019.
@GarlandTexasSpotter2024 hopefully by than they will restore the band organ. It did sound a bit off when I was there. But not terrible. I almost thought maybe they switched to midi but yeah who knows what may happen.
