1:28:10 Hugo Martin is legit, like the new Id's John Romero. I've seen interviews and the dude fucking adores Doom. He's one of the main reasons the 2016 Doom was such a masterpiece.
A lot of the criticism at the end was spot on. I felt like 1/4 of the conference was filled with them pausing for applause. Jones' passionately disappointed rant was absolutely amazing. I'm also glad they admitted that in hindsight they gave EA higher scores than they should have because of it being the first press conference.
When you put EA’s event next to Microsoft’s and Bethesda’s it comes off as totally status quo. Other than Anthem, what did EA really have? How ambitious is EA? They really had nothing new to show.
Todd Howard seemed really uncomfortable with the self-aware jokes and it felt like he was only willing to make them because of how much of the press conference was devoted to talking about how great Bethesda is.
100% with Bosman. Giving Xbox a 9.8 was almost hilarious. World exclusive was exactly that. We got to show it first and paid to do so. 7.5 is a better score.
I personally think that it's an 8.5. True, it didn't really do a great job at selling the Xbox One specifically, but it was a damn entertaining conference. It showed a bunch of new games, and that's fun regardless if they're exclusives or not. The pacing was great with only 2 or at most 3 lulls, and it had solid surprises sprinkled in. It's the best Microsoft have ever done in terms of creating a presentation, and that's worthy of praise.
for entertainment ill give it a 9. For wanting me to turn on my xbox 1 again. I give it a 4. I think you need both. This is a conference to sell consoles and games. 7.5 is fair.
I'd say rate it as a show. MS was at least 8.5 or higher. I was into it the whole time other than Gamepass and the division. This show was rough, 5-6 imo.
Yeah it’s a bit odd. Are we judging the conference or are we judging how well the conference sold the Xbox brand? They had some good exclusives, but DMC5 and Cyberpunk were the highlights for me and neither of those games are exclusives and therefore aren’t incentives for me to buy an Xbox.
Thought that it was a mediocre presentation, not because of the games, but because of the execution. Also, some people in chat got salty over them not fully covering Devolver, but I think that was the right choice. Ultimately, they caught all of the trailers shown during that conference, and the whole comedy skit that largely takes up that conference isn't really fuel for discussion or analysis, regardless if one enjoys it or not.
Bethesda showed off a decent roster but something about Todd Howard’s weird smugness and how they took every opportunity to awkwardly heap praise on themselves was bizarre to me. Microsoft and Sony do it too, but there was something about the way it was handled. I was almost waiting for someone to say “please clap”.
16:51 i lost my mind so hard during the stream listening to huber gush about shotguns that i had to find the archive and watch it again lmao i wanna feel the- feel the p-power
I agree with Kyle, as a E3 “game” show Microsoft slayed but as a “XBOX” conference it was okay. I would give it a 7.7 and Jones made a perfect rant that explains my issue with this conference I give it a 4
Honestly I see where Jones is coming from, totally, but being actually at the event and waiting in line for it, I didn't get to see the Xbox conference at all before I got home at like 1:00am so with the Fallout trailer repeat, I see why that'd be frustrating, but also I hadn't seen it yet so I don't feel the same way. I think EA is like a 4, Bethesda a 7 just because I actually felt the passion from these people even though the pacing was stilted.
A lot of this criticism is totally legit, but I personally felt like you guys were too hard on them. Despite the poor presentation, the games shown got me really hyped.
Im not sure if you guys react to it already but there was few interview with Todd Howard and he share with us new info about Fallout 76 and how things work.
+eaharms3544 That's totally subjective I guess. I just remember them self-congratulating for a couple of minutes at the beginning of the conference. And well, to try market your brand is actually, like, some of the best things that you can do as a company.
Unfortunately, failed marketing is worse than none. I found it a weirdly off-putting conference, and I consider the award mentions and pauses for the audience to applaud as part of the self-congratulating. It felt like EA, not Bethesda.
Then the head should thank them, not look awkwardly at their customers, waiting for them to do it. That little bit of humbleness and heart is what was missing, you can't count on the audience for that.
If you tell me what they showed and announced in this conference, i would be so fucking hyped! But, if i actually watch the conference (which i did), all that hype is just buried along with a sense of uncomfortable-ness. I dont know why can they just do a tight and fun show, they dont have to talk about each game. Also, the pausing for applauses thing is way out of control in this one, i'll agree with Jones on that.
It reminds me a lot of Square's last conference. Brilliant game announcements, but it just got so bogged down in boring people in suits talking that it brought the whole thing down.
I came here for for the ES VI reactions damn it! I got none from you guys. I on the other hand, screamed like a little girl when I saw the teaser. 2011 was *the* year for me.
There is no way that this conference was worst than EA. You guys were a little hard on Bethesda. They literally showed so much with a lot of their games and that’s exactly what we wanted. What more did you want? The show was almost 2+ hours. It sounds like Jones has a vendetta with Bethesda or maybe Todd Howard. They had literally like 6 info videos about fallout 76. Did you want them to take 4 hours talking about the game. I’m just confused why the panel is so upset. They showed a ton of game play and EA showed literally nothing. I feel like they showed the helmet because when fallout 4 came out the pip boy specials edition sold crazy fast and everyone wanted one
Devin Hill I think the pacing and length ruined the mood for them. I just skipped to the reveals and Todd Howard's segment which made for a very enjoyable experience.
budakbaong siah I played Skyrim when I was 13. That game and world of warcraft cemented my love of video games. Even if they promise a lot of stuff as long as you keep your expectations in check I think we'll be satisfied with what we get. Starfield is just brimming with speculation.
Yes, I understand. I love Oblivion, buggy as it is. I'm just trying to say that Bethesda (especially Todd Howard) is known to over-hype their games, especially those that they made directly.
It's the difference between rating the content of what the company brings and the execution of a conference. I'm completely with Jones, you grade the execution along with the exclusives. You can't just rate on exclusives alone. For entertainment, information and excitement I completely agree with Jones, Microsoft knocked it out of the park and this was a huge mess. Even if I'm excited to play Rage 2 and the new Doom, these bethesda games are really starting to all look the same. Again with Jones all the way.
Well, it was the first presser of the weekend. And later on in this video they do say that in hindsight they gave EA a better mark than they would now.
+Lynch85 I think a 6 is fair for EA, even though for me personally it was much, much lower. If you create several categories to judge the conference on and then average the scores, then you would probably come up with a 6. Even though my personal score on how much I care about any of their games was 0.5. You have to try to think on behalf of people that do like Fifa, Madden and battlefront 2. For them, it was a 6. L&R
1:04:10 I don't know why I thought this exactly, but I can't help but think, "was the whole thing planned?", but no one else mentioned anything like that... I'm probably wrong that it was, but I just couldn't help but go there in my mind.
Can't really make a fair comparison when it's a console maker vs a games publisher only, since MS can rely on other 3rd parties (which they did heavily) & EA/Bethesda cannot.
I don't know if it's because everything Bethesda put out is something I care about, or if it's because I genuinely thought the jabs they took at themselves were funny, but I thought it was a really good conference overall. Bethesda got hit hard last year for doing a video, they get hit hard this year for talking too much, I thought both were good shows.
I'm with you. I don't get calling it "stilted" in the video description and their apparent "issues" with it. This was probably the better 'people talking' presentation this year.
Honestly, I have no idea what the fuck they were talking starting at around 2:31:00 because I was reading the subtitles of the Devolver Digital conference and watching Ian's face.
Because it was a joke. Saying you never know when youll need a free hand, he hears chuckles from the crowd and jokes that theyre all thinking of masturbation.
I`d rather they state what is exclusive and what is not regarding the whole Microsoft conference discussion. TBH last year I definitely thought Monster Hunter World was a PS4 exclusive and the year before I thought FFVII Remake was an exclusive. I own a PS4 and a XBox One but it is still good to know if there are other options available. Also reviewing the conferences by looking what is coming out exclusively for the rest of this year all of them don`t end up that great honestly.
can't believe you guys gave MS xbox a 9. there was no game to make xbox to shine. xbox only games were only old franchises. good ones were multiplats. 8/10 to me
I thought Bethesda's show was great. Even hearing the Allies be hard on them, I share next to none of that sentiment. I love Bethesda though so I'm sure that's part of it. I did think it was awkward as hell though.
Polykill Podcast me too, that was 10/10 my friends and I are so happy and hyped, that was one of the most exciting series of game reveals ever. I'm so hyped. I get everyone is not as crazy about their games and they prefer the bigger conferences, but wow, dreams came true for me and I'm happy 😁
They paused whenever a trailer came up. Think they just did the best they could with the time they had. They had to do the Bethesda post show so everyone could get home and get some sleep, cause today is gonna be a long one. And after the waste of time last year's Devolver show was, it's hard to blame them. Metal Wolf Chaos though!
love how much jones dislikes the talking and such but when its the sony conference all they have to do is show 8 minutes of spiderman and nothing else matters
Awkward presentation. Most exciting announcements were titles only: Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6, and they may not even come this generation. Fallout 76 is still an unknown for me.
Your most exciting announcements were two games that literally were just teased and we all knew they were in development? Go play Doom 2016 and get back to me.

Doing the good work.
I love you
thanks so much man

“The reason I love a Jones rant so much is because it’s not malicious, it’s *passionately disappointed.*”
Couldn’t have said it better, Huber.
He's the anti-Huber. Someone has to keep his overwhelming positivity at bay. XD
1:55:36 Awwww, that's really sweet.

When you put EA’s event next to Microsoft’s and Bethesda’s it comes off as totally status quo. Other than Anthem, what did EA really have? How ambitious is EA? They really had nothing new to show.
I felt 90% of the applauses were self serving... idk why bethesda loves doing that.
Todd Howard seemed really uncomfortable with the self-aware jokes and it felt like he was only willing to make them because of how much of the press conference was devoted to talking about how great Bethesda is.
1:47:50 - Jones WANTED whatever Ian was eating.
He offered him didn't he?
He did, but didn't give him anything lol
yes he does! at 1:48:20 he gives him a star burst n eats it a few seconds later
weezerathf ohhh I see now lmao
they were Now-n-Laters, you can hear Ian offer them by name
100% with Bosman. Giving Xbox a 9.8 was almost hilarious. World exclusive was exactly that. We got to show it first and paid to do so. 7.5 is a better score.

It's funny now hearing their reaction to ES6 and hearing "PS5 Elder Scrolls"... If only they knew.

Bethesda are really good at telling us what we want instead of giving us what we want. Rage 2 looks good.
2:20:33 this didn’t age well
Thought that it was a mediocre presentation, not because of the games, but because of the execution.
100% agree with Jones's rant and Kyle's MS score/reasoning
Man I love a good Jones' Rant :D
2:22:22 The tears started flowing...
Love the Jones rants. Agree all the way.
I love how Jones sarcastically slow claps at everything Todd says after a certain point haha
16:51
i lost my mind so hard during the stream listening to huber gush about shotguns that i had to find the archive and watch it again lmao
i wanna feel the- feel the p-power
I agree with Kyle, as a E3 “game” show Microsoft slayed but as a “XBOX” conference it was okay. I would give it a 7.7 and Jones made a perfect rant that explains my issue with this conference I give it a 4
By that logic the E3 of Dreams is like... a 6/10
to me, wolfenstein is the highlight, solid creative sequel.
I really like how among all conferences Bethesda is most punk rock...
Neurotyczny Kot I can appreciate that.
That Jones rant was glorious.
Where’s the part where Huber declares he’s so very happy to be experiencing this with the other allies? THAT was the Sweetest Moment.
Balert 1:55:37
Brandon Jr. now canon.
My favorite thing about this video is that Brandon Jones isn't having it with Todd Howard's shenanigans.
47:02 amazing gif opportunity
Doom: Hell on Earth is hype! Can't wait for more.
Jones needs a "You know what GRINDS MY GEARS?" show. All rants ALL the time!
aaaand the next Elder Scrolls is still more than half a decade away. Woohoo.
1:47:55 Come on, you guys didn't even hear the best part of the event.
But they need to self congratulate and make each other laugh and clap for extended minutes. I mean dont you do that when listening to a conference?
Honestly I see where Jones is coming from, totally, but being actually at the event and waiting in line for it, I didn't get to see the Xbox conference at all before I got home at like 1:00am so with the Fallout trailer repeat, I see why that'd be frustrating, but also I hadn't seen it yet so I don't feel the same way. I think EA is like a 4, Bethesda a 7 just because I actually felt the passion from these people even though the pacing was stilted.
Bethesda is a toxic developer.
I love kyle’s point about MS show , totally agree with him 100% "3:11:02"
They should give a location with the es6 trailer. Kinda makes me think they havent even started it...
A lot of this criticism is totally legit, but I personally felt like you guys were too hard on them. Despite the poor presentation, the games shown got me really hyped.
The trailers and the games are at least an 8, but the presentation was a 4.
This is why Brandon is my fav. His rants are gold, even when I'm not agreeing with him... Not the case this time this was a 4/10
Honestly even with the micro-tease on ES6 and Starfeild and the MMO disappointment of FO76, the Doom and Wolfenstine reviews made me more then hyped.
Im not sure if you guys react to it already but there was few interview with Todd Howard and he share with us new info about Fallout 76 and how things work.
Watching this in 2022 when starfield still isn't out for another year lol
30 years in the making now
Why is everyone so salty lol. Not the best conference ever but it wasn't a bad one neither. All those games look like good games.
Their constant self-congragulating drew attention away from the games and made them look worse, which is the worst thing a conference can do.
+eaharms3544
That's totally subjective I guess. I just remember them self-congratulating for a couple of minutes at the beginning of the conference. And well, to try market your brand is actually, like, some of the best things that you can do as a company.

Love to actually hear the trailer
That glowing yellow eyed creature is so fucking freaky looking god damn.
There is no way that this conference was worst than EA. You guys were a little hard on Bethesda. They literally showed so much with a lot of their games and that’s exactly what we wanted. Fallout 76 releases November 14 2018
EA a 6, really Brandon? After they expent 22 min TALKING about Anthem to only show less than 5 min of gameplay?
Lynch85 easy Allies are quite generous
Well, it was the first presser of the weekend. And later on in this video they do say that in hindsight they gave EA a better mark than they would now.
+Lynch85 I think a 6 is fair for EA, even though for me personally it was much, much lower. First conference of E3, plus EA is expected to be bad heh.
1:04:10
I don't know why I thought this exactly, but I can't help but think, "was the whole thing planned?", but no one else mentioned anything like that... I'm probably wrong that it was, but I just couldn't help but go there in my mind.
Brandon Jones passion during his rating for Bethesda was amazing.
A Fallout game where all you do is kill monsters and collect loot. Yeah I miss Tim Cain and Chris Avellone (I know I'm old don't @ me).
I feel like Bethesda hired some people to sit in the crowd and woo.
Unbelievable, that Microsoft somehow managed to top Bethesda and EA so effortlessly
Can't really make a fair comparison when it's a console maker vs a games publisher only, since MS can rely on other 3rd parties (which they did heavily) & EA/Bethesda cannot.
i dont even mean on the content side. the whole presentation here and on EAs side was a badly timed cringefest
Yet still not sell a single X Box
awww sony fanboy mad microsoft conference was best
Jones' rant was amazing, but Ben's rant was just as good too.

Honestly, I have no idea what the fuck they were talking starting at around 2:31:00 because I was reading the subtitles of the Devolver Digital conference and watching Ian's face.
Fallout Shelter was on Xbox. It was on Xbox first.
Jones rants are always great, but these E3 Jones rants are something special.
5 years later and still no news about TES6 :(
i sure hope its starfield quality
If they played a trailer under Andrew WK that would've been awesome
2:15:05
Todd Howard (seemingly seriously) referred to his audience as "degenerates".
That is fucking hilarious!
That has to be a new E3 meme!
Andrew W.K. was definitely the highlight
Really, you guys mute Devolver and say "We can skip this, they are not funny" What? What is wrong with you....
the guy on the far right is the best thing to come from youtube calling it now.
Take a shot everytime say "Thanks and Thank you"
can't believe you guys gave MS xbox a 9. there was no game to make xbox to shine. xbox only games were only old franchises. good ones were multiplats. 8/10 to me
fishing for applause I can't believe it.
fallout shelter actually already is on xbox
3:10:57 Damiani and Kyle scores Microsoft
How come Bosman isn't featured in either this or the Microsoft conference?
He was probably doing stuff for Keighley's Yooutube Live E3 coverage
The real question: where is CHIM?
This conference was both terrible and amazing at the same time. How is this possible?
2:22:42 PS5 Elder Scrolls 😂😂
Andrew WK is a Party God
They ain't got the highest overall review scores anymore
1:51:06 Jones has a meltdown
salty allies?! they teased nuff things. you left the presser knowing more than u did going in. thats the point of these things
E3 wouldn't be the same without the cringe! love it! great coverage guys.

Yea I totally agree fallout looks great, doom 2, blades, and then confirmation on two of the most anticipated games
aww you guys didnt do digital devolvers conference. You guys missed out. It was amazing!
The Brotherhood of Steel arise
Warm up that space lasagna boys!!!

You must have never played doom.
I want to know if you can loot all the weapons and items off enemy players when you kill them in fallout 76. That would be so dope!
@1:26:40 what you all came here to see ;)
They broke it early and then broke it at launch just to be safe.
