I appreciate how playful you are with your visuals without inserting distracting or disruptive sound effects/clips
thank you!! i appreciate your kind message :))
😂
yeah i love it
is almost like a shitpost but waaaayyyyy better
(like without all the brain poisoning)
The highwayman theme is so damn baller.
The feeling it gives.
You are one of The first People in 200 years driving a car, the freedom The car gives you
Hell yeah dude, it is absolutely baller
This editing is the point in which post-irony transforms into sincerity
We are truly living in a post-post society-society my friend
I was born and for first 10 years of my lived in a kind of desolated small town, most known for its depleated uranium mine. Fallout was one of my first games, I learned english playing it at the age of 7. Theres no way to describe how I feel about this music. Its very personal, and carries a lot of memories.
Thank you for sharing some of your story with me, I hope my video could share my enjoyment of the music with you
For me was the only reason I wanted to learn english at 12yo since it wasnt translated, It also made me more aware of the peculiarities of the language and also the culture behind it, which to me was alien at the time.
It paid off in the long run
@@Dasgath That's pretty awesome! Thanks for sharing that Dasgath
What town? Where in the world? 😮
Bro made a video essay so he could flex his cover of chrysalis highwayman
playin the long game brother
Came for the video essay stayed for the editing
🥰🥰
Yo man really dig your editing style. It's funny but subtly so, doesn't detract from the video. God knows the meme video essay format popularised by ssethtzeentach is starting to get very old, so it's refreshing to see someone making more chill content.
Also, pulling out that guitar to do that chrysalis highwayman riff made me grin ear to ear. Fucking 👌
yooo thank you for enjoying it, the highwayman riff is suuper fun to play and pretty easy to learn if you wanted to give it a shot yourself !
My chrysalis highwayman is such a brilliant song
I know right, i find myself humming it all the time
Damn I feel like I just witnessed the birth of a RUclips legend. Hope you find success man
Thank you friend, I will just keep working hard and hopefully entertaining people :)
Good stuff, wouldn't mind witnessing more content from you.
thank you thank you, there is more stuff in the pipeline for sure
I love your style of editing. The world needs more of it.
gotta be the change you wanna see in the world hey
The world needs more of Simon's talking head implemented into different objects in the videos
Lo-Fallout music to relax and study to 24/7
Cheeky lo-fi girl style beat flip
I've listened to Dream Town countless times until I made my own version of it. every listen, making a new story and feel for fallout. I only hope that my version does the same.
Id love to hear it, want to share a link?

@@STOTW.SoundTracks0fTheWastes you did an awesome job of this! well done :))
@Simon Zinzovski thank you brother, you did an amazing job with this video as well.
your slowed down versions of songs actually hit harder, i can't explain why but Dream Town is enhanced from this haha
Meeting Mark Morgan at the Wasteland 2 release party was definitely a life highlight for me. No idea how many times I just walked somewhere in-game and left the music playing while I did something else in my 1990s room
Wow!! That is a great story, it must have been so so cool to meet him :)
yes, Fallout 1 and 2 are my favourite soundtracks ever. It's probably because I played it so much as a kid, but it the atmosphere of despair is truly one-of-a-kindand I love it dearly.
I know a lot of people in the comments share your feelings, it really is special music 🎶
This video was made for me. Fantastic work! The classic fallout's OST deserves more praise.
I did, I made it just for you! Glad I could entertain you :))
Fallouts music left a critical emotional impact on me, the scars made for nice party talk later
i dont think you're alone in this my friend
Didn't notice you only had 55 subs, the editing and narration seems like it'd come from a pretty distinct and well put together creator. Keep this up dude, I plan on coming back for more
I really appreciate the support dude, the videos are only going to get better from here 💪
Metallic monks just hits different damn
spooky ass beat fam
This was really really good! Lovely analysis, and I think your deadpan delivery mixes wonderfully with your low res absurdist editing. Hopefully we'll get to see more from you
i stay low res, and I will be back with more soon for sure :)))
Brother, this is one of the best analyses of most iconic OST, you do good work. Also cover is banger.
You are too kind, I'm just glad you enjoyed it :)
I'm so glad someone finally made a video about Fallout's music, cause Fallout 1 & 2's osts are so insanely good it's underrated
They are truly slept on gems, glad you enjoyed the vid :))
Jesus christ. This video is such a refreshment from all the typical video essay stuff today.
You mix interesting funny editing but still keep it subtle for it not to become obnoxious.
I hope to see you strive for more amazing content like this.
(And good lord the fucking riff for the highway man theme was godlike)
Thank you my friend, I see my years of guitar practice have not gone to waste. I will absolutely be putting out more content soon :)
This is really good! Your style of presentation is unique and enjoyable. I didn't expect the music for old Fallout to be so complex and interesting. I hope to see more from you!
There is so much to talk about within any piece of music! I look forward to making more videos for you :))
Wow what a discovery! This video appeared on my recommended list and boy am I glad it did. Such a unique editing style! A good video length and explanation! Keep it up Simon! I betcha you will strike lucky and grow in popularity in no time.
Thank you so much for the kind words, it makes me very happy to know that you enjoyed my video 😁
Great analysis, Fallout OST is something that never leaves you. With great themes, dissonance that makes you anxious and worried, perfectly reflecting the truly messed up world.
Also full My Chrysalis Highwayman cover where, we need it
I absolutely agree, the classic fallout OSTs are special.
@TrumanWilson and @skymoone have done awesome Highwayman covers if you want more Chrysalis content:

Dude, you’re editing is the bees knees, and combined with classic fallout lore/aesthetics? We need more. Subbed.
Thank you boss, i stay knee height 🐝 🐝
Vault of the Future is my favorite OST song, I remember hearing it the first time in vault 22 and wonder why the song is so dark yet so catchy, I then later played fallout 1 and was happy to hear vault 13’s OST track.
Someone else in the comments said the same thing! It is a track that left a strong impression on a lot of people it seems
Madlad just puts Lynette through a vocoder with Giant Steps like it's nothing.
All in a day’s work 😅
Это гениально. Уважение автору за такой подход к созданию и монтажу видео.
Thank you for watching the video my friend, I hope you are doing well :)
Very unique and fresh editing and narration style! I rarely enjoy video essays but you made it easy and fun.
thank you! glad i could bring some fresh energy
Very cool video, your editing style is fun and I hope to see more videos uploaded! Love the 90s fallout titles and I'm glad someone took the time to explain their genius! we will watch your career with great interest.
Thank you for your generous support! There is another video currently in the works :))
Wow this could be the best video the YT algorithm made me discover. Love the humor and the- even technical- authenticity and the deep love for the incredible pieces of work those games are.
Great and moving work to say the least. Cheers!
Thank you for the kind words, I hope I can make more videos that you will enjoy in the future :)
Hope we get to see more from you, thoroughly enjoyed the video! : ) It’s definitely something I’ve been waiting to see a video on
Thank you! I'm working on more videos rn so do expect more, I'm glad that my video was good enough to make you want to come back :)
im glad that somebody made a video about this
I started off this video with just listening to it in the background, and I was already really enjoying it! And then I looked up and saw the way you had edited your face into various spots and actually started the video over just to pay attention to the whole thing. Love it!
Ahah very cool! I'm glad I could surprise you with my silly face. Thanks for watching :))
Honestly one of the best soundtracks ever made. Thanks for an amazing video!
It is a true classic! Thanks so much for watching :))
Cool video. Dig the editing. You might check out the score to Caves of Qud sometime. I think there may have been some Fallout inspiration there. There's certainly some difference in musical styles, but I think there's some similarity in approach.
heyy thanks for watching dude. I have a good friend who recommended Caves of Qud to me but I never checked it out, ill for sure be giving it a listen through now though :)
My favorite new channel! Would really appreciate more of such OST analyses.
Thank you for the support! There are more videos to come very soon :))
This is the most chaotic yet entertaining video I have ever watched, and I absolutely loved it when you ragged it playing my chrysalis highwayman. Flawless video. I only ask for more.
that is high praise my friend, i really do appreciate it xx
It's been years since I have been wanting a video like this, that covers Fallout music in an analytical way. Immediately subscribed!
Glad I could deliver a video you’ve been waiting for :)
Just wanted to say that this is one of the best video I have seen in the last month and that I loved the approach and analysis you made of the soundtrack, as well as your editing style and the My Chrysalis Highwayman cover. Thanks for the video, can’t wait to watch more videos from you, man, keep up the great work!
Thank you dude that is very kind of you to say and I really appreciate that you took the time to share such a positive message with me. I will be back with more videos, I promise !
incredible video finally someone making video essays with this style of editing!
Thanks dude! Glad you like my oddball style ✌️
Love your content! Manages humor without getting distracting and also providing a nice educational piece!
Thanks duuude, the support means a lot
You did a great job keeping it fun and informative!
Thank you! That is absolutely what I was going for
This video is really awesome! Analysis and editing are really well done! "Dream Town"
Thanks for watching it my friend 💕
Holy hell, this channel's a gem. There are only a rare few channels on RUclips that do Video Game music analysis, let alone do it in an actually comprehensive way with the right terminology. That being said, those 3 notes that make up anything closest to a 'melody' in Metallic Monks always gets me. There is just something so bleak about that V - i - VI progression given by the melody ontop of the nuclear soundscape, it just sounds so haunting.
Thanks for checking out my channel dude! Glad you find my stuff entertaining
That's a good shout about the melody too, it's really quite detached and unsettling
I grew up watching my old man play this game as a kid. The soundtrack really stuck with me. It's one of my favorites, alongside the first STALKER game and Age of Decadence
Age of Decadence huh? Sounds interesting...
Absolutely fantastic video, even if the chapter title cards are a bit much visually. If I had to TLDR
my experience with Fallout 1: The intro had me like "Oh God" But the moment I stumbled into Necropolis
and saw one of the buildings with 'Children of the Cathedral' playing, is when I _really_ got classic Fallout.
It also became my favorite theme in part cus of that, can't get enough of it. So beautifully haunting
thanks for the support, and for sharing your fallout memories with me!
This was really good. I always loved the Fallout music and this made me appreciate it even more. Thanks for making this.
It makes me very happy that I could contribute to your appreciation of the Fallout music, thank you 🙏
love that jamming with the highway song, specially the last bend.
Very good video dude, i really like your editing!
Thank you bro, it was a really fun song to learn and play
Thank you.
My Chrysalis Highwayman is so incredibly catchy, being such an extremely short tune that I wondered, why more music in Fallout didn't go this way? Now I know!
When you played along and improvised a bit at the end - I felt that.
Hell yeah dude, I'm glad I could attempt to answer some of your questions with my video. Highwayman is such a fun tune to play!
I remember playing Fallout 1 when I was 14 yrs old, radiation storm brought literal chills, it was very much a horror game to me back then. Good to see someone appreciating and breaking down Mark's OST. Loved the vid.
There is some level of horror and thrills in the original fallout games, especially fo1. I think Morgan's OST contributed to that a lot, it is a very impressive body of work imo
this is the best fallout video i've seen. your editing style is so satisfying, shredding is great. please continue
Thank you bro, that seriously means a lot, I will absolutely continue
This was probably one of the dopest videos I’ve seen digging deep into fallouts music, you should make more videos covering the fallout music throughout the rest of the games
Glad you enjoyed it! I might go over the 3D fallout music sometime in the future :)
I’m very grateful I came across this video. Been playing these games recently and quite honestly it’s become my favourite Fallout related video on this platform. Editing was amazing and genuinely had me cracking up.
Amazing! I'm truly glad to hear that. I feel very blessed that I could bring you a few laughs :)
Excellent video it was very informative and I love the editing.
I appreciate the love Ace 🙌
Thank you for treating this subject. It truly is a one of a kind soundtrack
Also your editing style is amazing

This video was such a treat to watch
Thank you so much! I'm really glad I could share my enjoyment of the fallout music with you :)
I have been waiting for a video like this for SO LONG
Glad I could make it for you 😅
awesome work, happy to stumble upon this channel
happy to have you here bro
Best editing i have ever seen. instant sub
You are toooo kind, i look forward to making more videos for you :)
Not even watched the video till the end yet and paused to leave a comment. I don't even remember when was the last time that I've watched a video about OG Fallouts that was this much enjoyable! As a representative of sicko's that listen to the extended one hour version of metallic monks, I want to say thank you for this video
Hey yo we sickos need to stick together, thanks for watching the video :))
A genious move Mark Morgan made was implementing pre war sounds like trains and sorls of larger crowds in the background to act as an echo from the past making the post nuclear present like limbo or makes the player feel like a ghost of civilisation. It tells you to not forget the real world before everything died instead of embracing reality of now. Thus it brings sorrow and hoplessness instead of positivity and hope. He doubled up on the sadness by reminding you what life should be instead of telling you what it could be while adding minor chords from sounds of today like among the metallic ambient pads and some major chords that comes mainly from instruments from the past like the guitar in Redding. I've always concidered the Fallout 1&2 soundtracks as one of the best in gaming history.
This is very apt analysis, it speaks to the decay of the world and the desire for a recreation of a past that is lost to time and resulted in total ruination. Thanks for the thoughtful comment, I really enjoyed reading it
That absolutely seamless transition into your cover of highwayman was insane, I looked away for a second and didn't catch what happened, fully jammed out for a bit thinking you were just playing the audio as an example. Stellar work and an incredible video man, I'll definitely be coming back for more.
ayyye i gotchu huh. thanks for the support! there'll be a need vid out in a little more than a week from now 😅
Excellent video! OG Fallout music is great, but I've always kind of struggled to articulate _why_ I like it so much. You've put words to the feelings I've had for years- thanks for that!
And, I gotta say, your editing style is uhh... it sure is something! I like it, for the most part, though I feel like it could be a bit more subdued. It's a little distracting at times, though I'm a fan of it in concept!
I’m so glad you found value in my video! I also really appreciate the feedback. My editing style will be refined (and made less confusing) for the next project :))
It's peak kino
This video was so crucial for me. Explains my obsession with metallic monks
glad you got something out of it !!!
went to the channel to see more videos only to find out this was your first. could have fooled me. very well done.
Thank you my friend, it seems my plan to fool you worked almost perfectly. Mission success
Continue to make content of this quality and you'll hit 100k subs within a year, less if the algorithm blesses you at random, as its known to do. Excellent work here, I really enjoyed the humor, and style you put into this.
You are too kind, and I appreciate the vote of confidence. I'm just going to keep making videos that bring value to people and see what happens :)
Oh man, I don’t know what else to say other than I love you. You’re subtly hilarious, man. Keep it up, never lose this flair you got
That seriously means a lot dude, I hope I can keep entertaining you :)
Bro I fucking love your editing style. Can't wait for the next video.
Thank you! New video will be out today :)
@@SimonZinzovski awesome bro you can count me as a new subscriber, Goodluck brother.
Metallic Monks is probably my favourite game soundtrack. That atmosphere and realising what the Brotherhood are like to meet after experiencing the wasteland in Fallout1... It perfectly echoes the destruction of the Great War and a sense of hope for the future... The pads are hopeful, and the story told by the ambient sounds makes it a perfect contrast.
One of the few pieces of music that gives me goosebumps.
Man your channel is awesome I don't know what this editing is but it's amazing 🤣 keep at it your going places
I don't know what it is either ahah, I was just having fun with it. Thanks for your support :)
An analysis of the remaining tracks would be cool! Anyway thanks for the good video.
Thanks for the feedback :)))
I love how you have two styles of editing, the "basic greenscreen crop out and ms paint overlays", and then the "professional masking over a TV to make it look like you're broadcasting on it with a filter". Insta-sub.
Glad ya liked it! Spent ages doin it 😵
That was a great video, super interesting, thank you! :) I'd never noticed how good the music was in these games, and how they don't even have ambient sounds D:
Thank you my friend! I am glad I could share my enjoyed of these soundtracks with you :)
Really good video, the soundtrack to that game is a masterpiece. My fav is desert wind
Desert Wind being the main menu music sets the tone of the game sooo perfectly
MM music is not just fine music , his music is one of the best ambients ever made..
listen to it countles time myself since 2001
It's music that is hard not to enjoy !
Really interesting video about fallout music! Love the editing too!
Thanks!! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)))
Just finished a fallout 1 pacifist run today. One of my favourite games ever, I’m so happy someone finally addressed the godtier music of the early games as it’s absolutely stellar.
Keep making videos about stuff man, was very entertaining and well put together. I hope to see your channel grow ❤
Woaah how was doing a pacifist run? A lot of disengaging from encounters? Tysm for the support also 💖
@@SimonZinzovski Yeah it was definitely difficult. But running the trait Jinxed was very helpful, since I wasn’t attacking it only meant everyone else was critically failing. In the times I got cornered I was about to wait out attacks by guzzling stims until someone crippled themselves and ran off.
But yeah, was very fun and interesting ❤️
@@scotxer9050 Lmao that is funny as hell, I might need to give that a try

I have never seen a video edited like this, it’s really different and fresh. Incredible way to start a new channel!
Thank you! Im so glad you liked it! Hopefully i can make more videos you’ll enjoy 😊
the first half of "california revisited" is my favourite, these drums is awesome

@@HubertSobkow Thank you for the kind words dude, I'm looking forward to sharing another video with you :))
Although I wouldn’t give Morgan full credit seeing some of the songs originate from artist like Aphex Twin I do totally agree he really nailed the atmosphere the OST created.
Aphex Twin’s numerous Ambient soundtracks spread across multiple albums is something you could possibly look into if you ever plan on making a similar style video because I’d say his work is often under discussed on youtube seeing how much of impact he made on that genre of music even possibly including the other Artist Boards of Canada. If you haven’t i’d give both of them a listen.
(Aphex Twin SAW 1 & 2 and possibly I Care Because You Do. I’m not sure what to recommend for Boards of Canada but Geogaddi is good.
I really enjoyed your video and I can see your channel getting bigger down the road.
You are totally right that the soundtracks are heavily Aphex Twin inspired. The Vault Archives page on the wiki is my go to resource for the samples Morgan used across the two games (fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Vault_Archives). I am a very big Aphex Twin fan myself but might not have listened to enough Boards of Canada, though I am familiar with them. Thank you for the kind message, for enjoying the video and for expanding the discussion with your well thought out comment :)
This was highly informative! Please keep up the good work since this is such a cool concept and very well executed.
Thank you dude, I will absolutely keep it up
Man I swear, you have the most shit-posty editing style I've seen but your narration and the way you use the music you are talking about is top notch, you are real good man
ahahha yeah i think that makes sense, I appreciate the kind words dude ✌️
Wow, now my idiot brain can actually put to words why exactly I like this ost so much
Oh, and the visuals are a treat
Oh, and sick guitar riffs

Stupendous video! Looking forward to more.

This is the best “review” of an aspect of a game(s) I’ve ever seen. Very visually enjoyable and educational, though I never though about the sounds while playing as you’ve described in the video; I believe you hit the mail on the head.
That is extremely kind of you to say! Im glad some of the ideas in my video resonated with you

great vid!
i've also only noticed how special mark morgans music is during my last fallout 4 playtrough with a mod that embeds the old ambient track into the game.
it was a completely different experience.
Wow! Maybe I need to try that mod out myself, could help me enjoy the game in a different way
Great video, love your editing!
Thanks cuz, I appreciate the support
What a fantastic video! Great job breaking down why the music is so effective. Love that music! I think Inon Zur was very inspired by this for the modern Fallout games, and many of those ambient tracks are also great, but the radio means a lot of people don't hear it as much.
I think Inon Zur is a fantastic composer. The radio system in 3D fallout is quite interesting and unique, it effects the game and the sound experience in a lot of ways
