This version (the most famous one) is in Portuguese, but the original song actually is in Spanish, from Bolivia. That's where the beat comes from too - traditional Andean rhythms. It was then translated to Portuguese for this production. See "Llorando Se Fue," by Los Kjarkas: ruclips.net/video/2QEsz-jhEiM/видео.html

@Iris E from wiki: In the early hours of 19 January 2017, police found Braz's body in a burnt-out car next to a road in Saquarema, 73 km from Rio de Janeiro.[2][3] According to witnesses, two men had been seen earlier in her home, not far from the place where the vehicle was found.[2] Police detained three men as suspects in her death, describing the crime as 'a robbery gone awry'.[4] According to the police investigation, she was murdered by one of her employees, who had started work at the singer's inn just 15 days prior to her death.

great reaction to what was a huge song hit from Brazil(?) as I believe it's in Portuguese and the Lambada dance at the time was "controversial" for the close contact and "suggestive moves" and it was known as the "forbidden dance" or something like that. I thought it looked like a lot of fun and the song has such a cool easy going groove... how could you not like it? good stuff J.

This is a traditional song of the Andean folklore in South America, which has had many versions over the years and the 1989 version of the Brazilian group Kaoma is one of the most famous ... The original song is Bolivian, in spanish and is called "Llorando se fue " and Kaoma adapted lyrics to portuguese and to the Brazilian rhythm Lambada. Also changed the name of the song alluding to the Lambada dance style (typical Brazilian) that you see in the video.

I was 19 when this was released and now 49 but this was a huge hit worldwide. In Australia, particularly, we always had songs that were released from around the world. The foreign songs were always a hit in Australia, because we are a very multicultural country. This dance was also popular due to the song/video. Love your interpretation of the song. You’re right about the catchy tune, draws you in straight away. I too never knew what she was singing but it was beautiful regardless. For me, music soothes the soul. Move the hips too! The french drinking brand Orangina produced it to advertize all 1989 summertime.
It was such an enormous hit that a lot of people just know the music without this "moneymaking" background.
You can see an advertizing board where it's written "Orangina" behind the bartender and the yellow dress girl is sometime playing with Orangina's bottles (little yellow bottles) instead of maracas

This song was an *unauthorized* use (some would say theft) of a Bolivian song by Los Kjarkas called *Llorando se Fue* ............Kaoma had to pay damages.......I wish you could review the actual song!......there are videos on RUclips
..............The original is very different in flavor, using Bolivian traditional instruments such as charango and "panpipes"-- It's an afro-Bolivian style of song called Saya. Los Kjarkas are a beloved band who do traditional styles of music using traditional instruments with strong indigenous influence so some people were pretty righteously upset.

La Lambada, the group's first single, is in fact a plagiarism of the song Llorando se fue, by the Bolivian Andean music group Los Kjarkas (the panpipe was replaced by the accordion in La Lambada). They will assert their rights and obtain their cause in 1991 by collecting the 6 million francs (1.3 million euros approximately) of royalties that Kaoma had unduly received.

The lambada was known as the forbidden dance which is why the father slaps the little girl which always pissed me off - they are very innocently dancing.... and until he is dancing and just feeling the joy, he doesn't get it. Dancing is only "dirty" when your in for a grind... even "dirty dancing" has very little contact and is just suggestive! Lighten up people...dancing is so good for you! Physically, mentally (releases those endorphins & serotonin

    My Translation:
The one who someday made me cry, has gone crying (2x)
He will be crying, remebering the love he could not attent to (2x)
His memories will forever be with him, wherever he goes (2x)
Dance all you can (sol e mar - brazilian expression for A LOT) and I will keep in your look
Love makes you loose your findings
I will be ancing lambada when remembering this love
That for one isntant (in time) was king
The one who someday made me cry, has gone crying (2x)
He will be crying, remebering the love he could not attent to (2x)
Music, laughter and pain, the melodiy of love
A moment suspended in the air

I had fun with this music, back in the 90's.
And it was actually not to hard to learn how to dance to this.

I’m surprised people haven’t requested “Captain & Tennille” ❤️ “Do That To Me One More Time” x “Love Will Keep Us Together”. They were the cutest duet ever in my opinion
