Hmmm looks fun but the fact that the guessing team usually scores less points seems like a problem. What's keeping the guessing team from not trying very hard to avoid giving points to the opposite team?
I think if you always play with the same group it would quickly become obsolete . They could substitute those cards for tinier cards or tokens, each one containing a single word separately. If you still had to take five words, thousands of combinations could be formed, adding lots of replayability.
Like you said, the game sounds a lot more fun than it looks! It sounds like it's got that Codenames aspect of trying to get in other people's heads. I'm kind of confused though. Is there anything in the rules stopping a team from just writing down words like "the" or "this" or "and"? It'd probably be pretty easy for clue-givers to adjust their strategy so they don't say anything but buzz words, but I don't like the idea of someone just writing down "it" as a cheap way to get points.
"Rhymes with" clues are generally forbidden in these kinds of "word guessing" games. No exception here according to this review. opinionatedgamers.com/2017/07/29/dale-yu-first-impressions-of-banned-words/

That's a great point. Why would I even try to give clues if doing so will result in a net loss?
Yeah, definitely a good point, but it seems easily remedied. Maybe every correct guess from your team is 3 points instead of 1 or something.
everyone i play it with loves it.. easy to sum it up as a better version of taboo
