Are there other ketchup brands beside Heinz? I'm from Pittsburgh, here we ONLY use Heinz - if a restaurant has a different brand - the customers will ask the waiter for the Heinz, and if they don't have Heinz , they may not stay in business for long. Pittsburgers are very faithful to Heinz ketchup.
I worked for JC Penny's in 1971 and watched two women refill Heinz Ketchup bottles with CODE ketchup brand, while they worked at the lunch counter. Being from Pittsburgh, I told the ladies that I didn't think they were aloud to do this, they told me they were told to do this, and they did not want to lose there job. I never heard of Code Ketchup !
I suspect that the ketchup in those squeezy plastic already-upside-down bottles has to be thinned out so it will fit through the little hole, thus saving money for Heinz.
