wow, thank you for showing the PERCENT. I AM USED TO JUST PRESSING PERCENT AND GETTING MY CALCULATIONS AUTOMATIC. I THOUGHT THIS CASIO was flawed... So I decided to search for reviews. So glad you cleared this up on your SECOND POINT!!! YAY... This will take some getting used to ..
OMG thank you for this solution! It was driving me nuts with the adding % issue. I have the MS-80M (basically the same calculator without the tax buttons) and pressing the + at the end finally got me the correct answer. This worked perfectly, thank you.
Same! I have the MS-80M (basically the same one but without the tax buttons) and this worked as well! I swore I tried everything and apparently it's just as simple as pressing the + sign. Why they didn't make that the = sign like almost any other normal calculator is beyond me.
Thank you. I was having issues with the percent adding as well. I have had it about 6 years now and since I got it, I just added percentages up the long way. It does need a battery as mine did swell up and was tough to remove. The calculator actually quit and when I popped the battery out, I was able to turn it on with just solar power afterward almost like the battery was shorting out the solar power. It seems to work fine in the office on solar power so I just left the battery out. The biggest issue I have is why do I keep messing with a $7 calculator when I can just go by a new one.
I know what you mean. Out of all the calculators I've ever had in my whole life. This is the craziest. When I finish responding to you. I'm going to Amazon and buy a different one night. I'm fed up with it. But it's funny too. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting I really appreciate it.
As an accounts student i can say It is not calculating wrong. It shows margin on sale price 100/75*100. Edit - it can be helpful for those shopkeepers who want profit on sale price not on cost.
Haven't had the need for a calculator in a couple of decades. The last time I did use one, it was for this "318830" is DEBBIE upside-down. And DEBBIE upside-down is a hilarious thing to see. Have a good Wednesday!!!
this calculator is different from most other calculators I have used because they are making the memory keys serve dual purposes. The percent function is also not typical, the amount of complaints in the reviews is high because they don't realize this calculator uses a different method for percentages. it could be a handy way to swindle people ,LOL.
You know I would like to tell you this is my most nerdy video but I think I have a video on how to install lead in a lead pencil so this video would be only second place thanks again for watching and commenting and appreciating my humor not everybody gets it.
I think because I don't trust this darn calculator. Because it has different modes it doesn't calculate like other calculators. So I just turn it off. That's not a good answer but it's all I got. LOL
Concering the feeling that the calculator is wobbling while using it, my solution is to put stick-on rubber bumpers on the back of the calculator. Not only does it eliminate the wobble, it also prevents the calculator from sliding around (my reason for putting them on the back).
A while ago I thought my old pocket calculator (a Casio from the 80s) was defective, but then I found out the Problem was my modern LED light bulbs. Since LED lamps hardly emit UV light ;-)
Many people don't know, but there are three different keystroke entry calculator types on the market. This calculator is not flawed...you need to know the formula for percentages. The universal way to calculate percentages is this way... $1000 + 50% = would be entered like this: 1000 X 50 ÷ 100 + 1000 = This formula can be used on any calculator. Hospital patients have literally died because staff had performed the wrong keystroke entry on the right calculator!
Thanks you for showing us this, however the fact that Casio requires us to learn a whole different operation method for simple calculations is absurd and unnecessary. Let's say for example someone borrows this calculator or gets it 2nd hand, they would not be able to use it properly unless they did some research or read the manual and learn a whole new operation method for simple calculations. This one is getting returned.
Different calculators doing the operations differently isn't unusual. This has been an issue with some scientific calculators where they handle the Order of Operations differently. Due to that, entering the same problem can result in different answers (there are some RUclips video that illustrate the issue). That is why in College you should only use the recomended calculator.
Jason, I have not been fishing in a year. The last time I went I somehow snagged a big Mayan Cichlid in the eye. The hook was in his eyeball. I wasn't planning on eating the fish, and there was no way to remove the hook so I cut the line and let him go back. Unless I am going to eat a fish I don't feel like fishing anymore. I have been thinking of taking my camera and an underwater bag and going to the bridges to film underwater to see what is there. Or maybe just use a barbless hook. I have made a bunch of lures and never made a video on them so that might be something to do also. I was also , since I am lazy, been thinking about doing a series of fishing videos where I take my gravity chair to anyplace i can fish from it and just do videos of me fishing from my gravity chair in different places. here is my Florida Fishing playlist of some of my videos and of others I like. ruclips.net/p/PL0Fl7dCpoux6M-JE2uK07obB3cFZ9M6JL
@@RobbsHomemadeLife I just quickly scrolled thru that playlist, and the handmade fisherman caught my eye. I'm subscribed to him, and I've watched so many of his vids. Makes me sad that he doesn't post anything anymore.
he had great videos. There are a few fishing channels that actually dissapeared.I used to link to a commercial pompano guy here on the east Florida coast that made super educational videos and now he and his stuff are gone.
MS-80B: 100 * 25 % + (So 5 keystrokes) Vs the “longhand” formula: 100 * .25 = (25) + 100 = (125) (So 7 keystrokes) Vs most other percentage functions: 100 + 25 % = (Also 5 keystrokes) So basically it’s same number of keystrokes, just a slightly different formula.
Maybe dumb as a sacker rocks I never thought to calculate things twice but this calculator is majority wrong on the 1st try. So I didn't double check my work on an invoice and I was $200 over and it made me look real f****** bad. So now I always triple check

I think you're probably 100% right I'm kind of a dummy when it comes to math
I have had the Casio MS-80TV for at least 25 years it still works fine and I've never replaced the battery.
That has been my experience too. Thanks Mark.😎👌
Can you do review of Casio DV 220 with explaining all features on it

I have a Casio somewhere from the late 1970s. It has a similar look. My father paid $40 for it.
they seem well built.
Nice. But why do you press the OFF key after every calculation? You just need to press AC.

Hey, thanks for watching the video and taking the time to leave a helpful comment. Much appreciated.
My ms-80b calculator is showing number "9" on the screen without being able to enter any operation.
If it was made in Germany that would mean it was just trying to say no.😎

MS-80B:
100 * 25 % + (So 5 keystrokes)
Vs the “longhand” formula:
100 * .25 = (25) + 100 = (125) (So 7 keystrokes)

4:24 percentage is not intuitive. Even he made a mistake after learning it.
I do not have a lot of math related videos on my channel of over 1400 videos and I think you can see why😀
